Thanks for all the work here. Crazy times here in Chicago 100 years ago. Here's a real crazy guy to check out, Frank McErlane in Chicago. He would stick his machine gun out of his car window while driving down a street and shoot it off just for the fun of it. Crazy murderer. Was in the "Pollack" Joe Saltis gang in 1922. Died October 8, 1932, 38 years old. Other crazy Chicago gangsters I'd like to see a feature on are the 6 Genna brothers. Three of them were murdered in May, June and July 1925. They were something else. Also "Little" Hymie Weiss was a crazy killer too. On September 26, 1926 his caravan of 11 automobiles machine gunned Capone's headquarters at 4833 22nd. Street in Cicero. As a teen in the late 60s I got the paperback book, "The Chicago Crime Book", haven't been the same since. Plus watching all the gangster films on late night TV then, like Al Capone (1959), Mad Dog Coll (1961), Portrait Of A Mobster (1961), The Rise And Fall Of Legs Diamond (1960), Machine Gun Kelly (1958), and more. Then in 1967, The St. Valentine's Day Massacre came out. Remember my dad saying on the way home, the film made Al Capone look like the good guy. Once he said when he was 15 he walked past that garage on north Clark St. a bit before the shooting started on that Valentine's day in 29. Bang, bang.

My husband's grandfather LC Hoover was sheriff of Sullivan County in the capture of Fred Burke my understanding was he entered the house first because he knew and a former neighbors to the Bailey's we have the gun and picture of Hoover in front of the house after the capture a gun magazine wrote an article on this Green City Mo where he spent his time is having a celebration this 4th of july have built the station back we are older and only one of my children knew grandpa Hoover am interested in knowing the value of the gun with the picture of the house where Burke was captured
