Family visit July 2024
We had a family visit from my sister Ann and her best friend from Childhood Lyda.
As well as my cousin Carla and her husband Tim.
They all arrived together in Spokane on 30 June 2024. Ann and Lyda stayed for a week while Carla and Tim stayed for almost two with goals of traveling the Pacific Northwest for the first time.
1 July We started off our family adventures together with a visit to Idaho’s Coeur d’Alene where we hiked Tubs Hill, walked the resort docks and enjoyed the very pleasant weather before the big heat wave the second week in July.
Next day, 2 July, we traveled to the San Juan Islands in our airplane. Took the trolly tour around the island and had a pleasant dinner at the pier.
On 3 July, we went to Spokane’s biggest park, Manito to walk and visit the Japanese gardens and the next day enjoyed Irene’s pool.
4 July Our next outing was to Kayak the Little Spokane river from the Indian Painted rocks ending out our house’s backyard.
5 July hiked the bowl pitcher area along the Spokane river and rode the boat to a nice sandy beach on the river to enjoy some swimming.
6 July Ann and Lyda had to leave for home while Carla and Tim visited Palouse area and Pullman WA home of Irene alma mater Washington State University.
