My mom tells me when I was a baby sometimes the only thing that would stop me from crying was Fred Roger's voice on the TV. Rest In Peace Mr. Rogers, I look forward to meeting you in Heaven one day.
Thanks for sharing this. Mr. Rogers had a heart of gold and spent his life making other people’s lives better . I hope they repair his roof. He deserves to be remembered and cherished.
This man used to calm me down at my dentist appointments when I was a toddler, which was around when his show ended - but they still did reruns. I remember remembering him years later and thinking, "how is he doing?" Only to learn that he passed back in 2003 when I was four. I felt heartbroken but didn't do further research until now, I am currently 22 but I still remember this man and - when I get to Latrobe, Pennsylvania - I will pay my respects to this wonderful man.
We did to. Loved it. We are going back up soon and will do update on gravesite since his wife is in there now also. Hopefully its fixed. Thanks for watching.
There will never be another person like Fred Rogers. If he ever struggled with his own feelings, he never let it show. There was so much goodness about him. There isnt one word that can better describe than just "good." He was a good person. His goodness wasnt an act or make believe. His goodness didnt stop when the cameras stopped rolling. He truly was a gift to humanity. He passed before my children could know him but they were just as awestruck by the reruns as I was watching him as a child. His humility, grace, and compassion was infectious and he commanded respect, attention and empathy without uttering a single commanding word. Just his unending and selfless love. He was a good, good person.
Like many, I grew up watching him. It was my favorite show as a kid and even as an adult, I still watch the episodes. Wish I could have had the opportunity to meet him in person
The greatest man I’ve ever known. The Mister Rogers you see on television was exactly the man he was in real life. He helped make me the person I am today and I’ll forever be grateful for his friendship. ♥️
Watching this I’m putting myself in the shoes of Tim Madigan. A newspaper writer who wrote a book about being friends with Fred called I’m Proud Of You. The book ends with Tim visiting his grave
Thanks for sharing the shrine and tomb of this holy man and earthly saint beyond the human evils of $$ and power. I never knew mausoleums could have ceiling issues - you said the roof was solid thank goodness so glad the family or loyalists could assist with the clean up. I work for no man on earth but to donate my labor for Mr. Rodgers I would be first in line to work for free and the higher good only he was capable and worthy of earthly peace and love ;-)
Nice comment. I hope it's fixed now we will go up soon and do a follow up. I would say it is with his wife passing away. Never seen a ceiling collapse like that before😎😎
Thank you. Made this video when we first started this channel. We grew up with Fred and just wanted to share with you his final resting place and how to get there if anyone wanted. Glad you enjoyed it
I would come home after high school in the 70's and watch him before dinner. He was wonderful, still love him to this day. Does anyone know why the name of "Given" is on the outside?
He was a great guy. I watched him also during this era. The Masoleum is from Thomas H Given. Fred's Mothers Family Masoleum. Thomas was one the wealthiest men in town. Thanks for comment
It could be fixed now haven't been there for a while. Yes his wife passed away a few days ago. He was a great guy and she seemed very nice. Thanks for watching and stay safe
The way I see his wife passing, they are now reunited in the afterlife. She possibly ran into his arms and they smiled and a few tears fell from their faces once they saw each other again.
@@triciahenry4674 I imagine your right... Can u imagine being married to a man as Wonderful as Mr Rogers and missing him all this time? That must've been horrible heartache
Maybe I’m wrong… maybe… but there’s just no reason why that ceiling can’t be given total attention. If the funeral home is short on cemetery help…. Call in a construction crew. This is bound to happen now and then…. But putting it off is just inexcusable…. For anyone.
It is in Latrobe Pa. It is 40 miles away. We haven’t been back for awhile so not sure it is fixed or not. The college has a nice exhibit but was closed when we were there.
Not sure. We filmed this while back hopefully its fixed now. His wife died few days ago and I'm sure they will fix it know if it hasn't been. I'll check next time we are up there. Thanks for comment
His widow died from covid last winter.I wish I had know he was buried here as I drove thru this area 3 years ago.I'm sure she is above him now.I'm sure they cleaned it up before she was interred.
Great question Steven. It was told to me it is a family name from his Mother's side but I can't find any info on this. His Aunts Husband ashes are in it also I found out. So can't really answer your question. 😎😎
@@jbinthehills It doesn’t matter when he was diagnosed or that he refused chemotherapy. He still shouldn’t have died as soon as he did. But he never disclosed that he was diagnosed with stomach cancer to anyone outside of his immediate family much like Chadwick Boseman or Norm Macdonald.
