Man was so humble that even though he was pretty much one of the greatest people to serve the kiwis, he despised being called a hero to where he flinched at the word.
A hero for all, friends and enemies. Inspiration to be the best of mankind. I applaud you...VCX2...post Knighthood should be definitely be made for this man.👏👏👏
He turned down a knighthood it would be a disservice to the mans honour and humility to do such a thing. he is one of the greatest kiwi's if not men to grace the earth.
@@service2204 Yes, I know. I find it refreshing, in these times where people will sell their souls for five seconds of fame, that some folks have no interest in any kind of recognition for the amazing things they have done.
One other thing I remember the crew especially Moody, if he was interested in some historical landmark he would always call the navigator, thinking that the navigator was the crew historian. He didn’t realize it was the bombardier who was the crew historian. I had to get him straightened out. He would ask Lou for the historical significance of Sicily, one of the towns we passed over Sicily before that but I gave him a spiel, whatever it was. I may not have been right. I was always urging to give the answers to the questions before Lou had a chance to think about them. He could probably have answered them too.
50 seconds into it and holy shit does he look so uncomfortable. I heard they forced him onto the show with guilt tripping or was this another show I can't remember.
