Fred Parris is an American singer, songwriter, and musician, best known as the lead singer and founder of the doo-wop group The Five Satins. He was born on September 26, 1936, in New Haven, Connecticut, and began singing in church at a young age.
In 1954, Parris formed The Five Satins with four other members, and the group quickly gained popularity with their unique blend of R&B and doo-wop music.
