Would’ve definitely liked to see if rotated. With that amount of free fall, it’s tough (impossible?) to land skis first - more likely butt or head first.
there was a very limited place the pilot could be allowing them to film the skier and still miss the cliff jump...but he managed to find that spot. That alone is a once-in-a-lifetime event.
Blessings to the team who captured this. Also much appreciations and blessings for the people designing the inflateable-air-bag-rug-sacks, helmets and gps trackers. ❤😊
Immaculate. Such a great plan and execution. The camera was almost picking up the flight and landing...Almost. You can't help but admire such talent and such a visionary dude, that falls of the cliff and makes a world record. Taking it off another dude that landed on his head with skies on from 255 feet. These guys are true visionary legends pulling up trees to inspire us all with their falling skills.
How can this be other than an accidental drop record. This is not planned and not executed according to a drop plan with a landing zone. A lot of guys have fallen of much higher cliffs so what kind of record is this?
For everyone crying about the pilot theft clearly were hoping that he wouldn't go straight off the cliff and follow the ridge edge round hence the camera angle.
Crying? More like accurately criticizing for ruining the film we're watching, the camera crew should've been filming what was ACTUALLY HAPPENING, not what they *wished* was happening out there
@@xp8969 What? How do you think film is shot? They just shoot anything and everything in case the actor does something off script? Of course not, and this is exactly the same, the shot will have been pre planned and the skier will have had a set route to ensure the best shot. The skier follows a set path as does the heli pilot. If the skier goes off the pre planned route then of course the helicopter will be in the wrong position to get a good shot.

I gotta say, the overhead shots he got of the skier surrounded by all white are fuckin beautiful....like an ant on a marshmallow. That is before he Leroy jenkins'd himself off a giant cliff.
That was the worst camera work from a helicopter following a skier that I've ever seen, terrible angle the entire time in spite of him constantly chasing and hunting lookin for a decent one he never found
107 meters = 351 FT !!!😳 the way he charged in to that seemed like is he sure this is the spot😕 but no hesitation on take off worked out .......perfectly Insane😲
Powder snow man, it's just the best. What else will allow you to fall off a hundred meter cliff and walk away with nothing but bruises short of a literal parachute.
@jace alfordrelative perspectives.. people have fallen out of an airplane and survived. People have died trying to gap a road 70 feet on skis and the 2 foot step stool kills more people falling from it in thier home than ski deaths ... it's all impressive.. dudes got balls, he wanted to ski off a cliff, just didnt know where he was going.
@@sixfigureskibum intentional or not Jamie didn't land his drop either so they are both failures and the only record they acheived was for the tallest fall survived They earned no record at all for the tallest ski drop
Damn. Way too much skiing to be thinking about a 340 foot fall. Wow. Shame they missed impact, but just insanity. What's to stop any height, how much faster can you fall?
Is there anyone else thinking that this leap doesn’t count for any world record because he didn’t ski away from it? Of course I’m setting aside the fact that he’s incredibly lucky that he is still alive and in fact wasn’t even seriously injured.
@@xp8969 well the record is longest/biggest jump not biggest jump you ski away from so he kinda did break a record. Even if he didnt break any records its still an incredible jump
Dude needs mental evaluation for purposely dropping of a 100 meter cliff just to get his name mentioned in the record books for most stupid people alive (and very lucky at that).
why was he going so fast? when it comes to drops that big you really just need a steep landing.. your probably not going to land it anyway, better to land with slower forward moment on something steep and deep than to try to carry an ass load of speed/forward momentum to try to power through the deep landing which is pretty much impossible anyway
Great job filmers - when he goes off the cliff on his world record jump, you guys don't film it. It was exciting seeing, uhh...the place where he landed... 😕
I don’t like arguing on RU-vid but how can do many people be so stupid. This exact jump was not planned the heli was in position to continue filming him on the ridge not him going over the edge
