We sorta did he was in that 2013 XXL class and we all thought he would blow. Never knew why he never got that look. But I would think of him from time to time because he was nice with it.
You know his lyrical skills are too much when he keeps saying “You get it” He was in the wrong era...this generation don’t get punchlines & delivery! Long live Fred! #RIPFRED
He kept true to himself and his lyrical style at the expense of fame and paper... Much respect to Fred for that. Real hip hop heads give him the respect he's owed tho
@@sohailmethani1058 honestly... i believe its down to the promotional push. He didn't want to sign over himself to a company who would ruin him/change him. It's sad that such a talented rapper missed out because of how business works instead of ability, you know dude? When i heard he passed away it genuinely angered me as he never got the recognition worldwide that he deserved... its a damn shame.
@@KingDomsKingdom85 I'm 23 and wanna finally pursue rap but I keep note of those things. And I love your articulate response as its provokes a response that gears more towards the inner truths. Any thoughts?
@@sohailmethani1058 wow, that's fantastic my friend and something i highly recommend that you do... especially at your age as this is the perfect time to start writing. I don't mean this to sound harsh to a huge amount of the current hip hop artists now but it seems as if they've all settled for what is **currently** popular... but that is something that will not last. Just write about you, your inner thoughts and experiences but write them in a way that others can relate to, ya know man? I'm glad you commented on this dudes video as this man was what i believe to be the absolute best at word play when writing bars as he would use double meanings for words that were applied in bars that make sense in both ways. Sorry for rambling my dude and would love to hear or read some of your bars at some point soon my brother.
"My chick in DMV know your whip hater. I'll put money on your plate like I tip waiters. Screw to Idaho on a 5th later, tuck it under my crotch cause I'm a dictator." Then tells him "something slick you'll probably get later." 😂🤣😂 Fred's the man!
i found a different lyrics, who knows what s really saying and what's the story with Idaho? Thanks! www.songtextemania.com/slow_flow_songtext_fred_the_godson.html
So you’ve heard of the expression “potato on the barrel” as a byword for a silencer? Well Idaho grows a lot of potatoes, and when he says tuck it next to my crotch cos I’m a dictator, he continues the reference to potato - tater and, crotch - dick,
I know folks like to come on RU-vid to flood vids of someone who just passed with RIP comments, but it's important to honor what you see and hear. Fred's flow and wordplay is brilliant! Every rapper still with us needs to take notes.
If you all are hating, you don't understand what he is saying. It takes someone with education and common sense to understand him"word of advice i need none"~fred the godson
Fred the Godson is that classic, lyrical NY rapper that will never sell out, never go mainstream, never blow because the "rap" game is nothing but commercialized bullshit nowadays.
jshreck it's the industry and the way it's been built. the companies bring in shit rappers with nice edm trap beats and then force it onto the radio stations they own. the industry produces those trash rappers and they also push them with no remorse. almost any radio dj in America will tell you that they have you a list, you don't bring your own music anymore.
Rip Fred da god son . Thank full you left us these blessed memories. Now generations can go on knowing you left a solid foundation filled with god gifted talent!
Fred my man i was a fan from back in 2011!! Heard Moniques room and knew you were different! U never let me down.. every time i saw u featured i stopped snd gave u respect cuz thats what u deserved🙏🏿 peace to u thanks for giving us a glimpse of your gift! My condolences to your family and friends...
