Fred VanVleet was an absolute monster in the Finals, and was a huge key to helping them win their first NBA championship. His defense on Curry (on- and off-ball) was perhaps the deciding factor of the series. Not to mention averaging 14 pts on 39% 3-pt shooting, including dropping 12 points in the 4th quarter of the deciding game.
Through hard work, he went from going undrafted, to making the team, to making an impact, to being a contributor, to being a player you count on in the biggest moments when the game is on the line.
