Part 16: • Fred Williamson: Oprah...
--------
Fred "The Hammer" Williamson discussed his experiences while filming the movie "From Dusk till Dawn." They discussed Salma Hayek's famous snake dance scene, with Williamson recalling how Hayek was initially scared of the snake and needed a bit of help to perform the dance. He also touched on Quentin Tarantino's unusual ego, stating that Tarantino's desire wasn't to act, but to bring out negative aspects and do something different in his films. Williamson opined that Tarantino was capitalizing on the popularity of the blaxploitation era.

Pulp Fiction was a great movie. Definitely in my top 10 of best movies of all time. It's the only movie I went to the theater to see on 3 different occasions. Samuel L. Jackson definitely should have won an Oscar for his performance in the movie and Pulp Fiction should have won best picture.

Except when you look at the Blaxploitation films, not many or all them used the N word. If the N word was in fact used, it was a derogatory context.

@@honeyblunt5150 well so you remember that scene with Quentin Tarantino where his character was able to say a flurry of "dead niggahs" with the hard ER for no reason hell🤷🏽‍♂️ Myron head was blown off which was more then enough to freak him out but constantly bringing up his skin color in a negative way to Julius directly(yes he did bring the body there and yelled at vince too but the racial question about what to do with myron body was directed to julius)even tho he never called Sam that only "dorks"

Quentin loves that hard "er" and hides behind his statement, "it's the character and will not change my art one bit." It's not his use so much as his insistence on putting it in places that make you scratch your head and think, "who you really wanted to use that word." It's more of a power thing with him (I can use any word I want) than an authentic need to use the word. It's so forced.

I've never understood Black people's obsession with Quentin Tarantino using the N-word in this movie, I mean every time I use it it's perfect. It makes perfect sense, and it's never saying like saying the N-word is cool or anything it's just the characters, honestly, it's very real When he uses it and I think if you like art you completely understand why if you don't understand art in anyway then you'd have a problem with it but that's because you don't know anything beyond the first layer
