Actor Fred "The Hammer" Williamson recalled his experiences while shooting the film 'The Man Bolt' in Hong Kong where he trained at Bruce Lee's studio. He described Bruce Lee as a master at what he did and emphasized that the distinction of Bruce Lee's martial arts teaching was in the philosophical approach rather than fighting. He pointed out that unlike in America, where belts are a symbol of progress and can be earned through payment, in Hong Kong, learning martial arts began with understanding its philosophy and mentality, notably learning not to fight. Despite his induction into various martial arts Halls of Fame, Williamson clarified that his motivation was not grounded in martial arts, but rather the life lessons and values he acquired during his training.

fact check. i talk to bruce lee's last disciple everyday, and Bruce did not have a school in Hong Kong ever. Nor did he teach in Hong Kong. If you want real Bruce lee facts, I can connect you with Peter chin. his last disciple.

It's possible that the karate practitioners, that Lee appeared in a HK tv show with, might have had a school in HK. If so, he might have assumed that it was Lee's school. IDK

@@willms7173 That was a Goju Ryu school in the New Territories run by Larry Lee Gam-Kwan, but yes, Bruce didn't have a school, or studio, in Hong Kong. He did teach a few HK celebs at his home, though.

Love Fred and his films but this absolutely isn’t true. Bruce never had a school in Hong Kong. The only schools he ever had were in the States. Also, Bruce did not have a belt system in Jeet Kune Do.

I doubt it as well. Apparently, Bruce Lee didn't teach in the manner how he described it. Although maybe some schools may have used Lee's name after he passed. That much is true. Even Dan Inosanto's name has been used without his permission.

Bruce Lee, once appeared on a HK tv show with several karate practitioners. I don't know if the karate practitioners had a school in HK, but if they did, maybe it was their school he visited instead.
