The chain of events was momentarily covered by the press but soon enough all coverage regarding it stopped without an explanation. Freddi Fish was dubbed and translated to Swedish, sadly only the first game. They did an amazing job translating it; modifying all text that appears. While most translations remove the sequence where the bubbles form the title of the game, the Swedish translation kept it, since all it had to do was change the final "h" to "k". Really wished they translated more of the games.

I just remembered a nightmare I had about this game: Loading up a save I made years ago only to find that Freddi was a skeleton from starvation, with Luthors skeleton inside her, as she had eaten him in desperation. the story gets worse as it goes on(in multiple ways), so I will not continue.

I loved Freddi the Fish growing up. I played them all. I'm glad this video was made.

This game was ported to the Wii and I played it. I love the game itself as it brings back some good memories, but the one thing that bothers me is that on the box it says "over 20 hours of gameplay". I eventually learned that you can skip just about every scene (swimming to another area, finding something other than a bottle, etc) and ended up speedrunning the game in 5 minutes. However, if you're young like I was and don't ever skip the cutscenes, then the game will be particularly longer.

THE NOSTALGIA IS STRONG WITH THIS ONE. I'm pretty positive Freddi Fish was my first game, and my siblings and I reference it so many times, but I never could remember the name. We don't have it anymore either, so I've never been able to find it. And this video just made me so incredibly happy and nostalgic, and GAH! Thank you Brutalmoose for that.

The funny thing is that the sharks didn't even need to steal the Kelp Treasure because, as Freddi stated, it belongs to everyone, including them and the Squidfather, and there's enough to go around. They could have just asked Grandma Grouper for some seeds; though, I'm guessing the Squidfather didn't think of that because... Idk, because he's grumpy?

Now this might just be me over analyzing a kids' game, but couldn't a potential motivation for the sharks and squid be to monopolize the amount of kelp for all prey-type fish, giving rations based on sacrifices, or maybe so it's not quite so dark, considering this is a fairly high-functioning society of sea creatures, services and other products that only fish can make? Considering the sharks don't really seem to be motivated by...anything, based on their reactions at the end, that's probably not the case, at least for them, but the squid is seen to "eat" a small creature while the sharks are present, so maybe it's not such a stretch to believe that he'd be willing to go to such lengths. But probably not.

Now I haven't actually played this game, but it appears that the purple sea urchins are bonus items, which implies that saving Gabby is entirely optional. You can literally leave him to die. Than again, in the other Freddie fish game brutalmoose and pbg review, there's a song about the sinking of the titanic. I guess Freddie fish is just dark in general
