Overlooked? He's probably one of the most popular rappers in the underground (or however we should differentiate between made-for-radio rap and "real" hip-hop).
its just more ppl out here who just want to consume rap as a product, who don't appreciate the details, thats all it is. gibbs is doing what he's doing, if others overlook him that's on them
Amen! I live in Australia and his show needed a bigger venue his show was that popular, I was surprised in all honesty. Everyone knew every lyric I was taken back! 💖

Alchemist is god tier. In an era of the single, Alchemist makes full length feature project. COMPLETE projects. They don’t calm him the Alchemist for nothing, he labs up the chemistry between his beats and the rapper. On his work flow, I think I know how he achieves the fluidity you speak of. I’ve heard in interviews that when he does full projects with someone, he usually sends them or gets the rapper in to rap over the general beats then he gets the tracks back with the raps and he adds the extra sauce and transitions. It takes a special person to almost outshine on an Alchemist beat, Freddie is there. Freddie has solidified himself as a god tier emcee. The authenticity, the technicality, the content, it’s all there. He’s introspective and boastful. The features are the cherries on top, a complimentary addition to some heavy heavy work laid down by Freddie. I’m in awe, to be honest. Alchemist is my favorite producer of all time and to see this work and project out of him almost feel like we don’t deserve it. Maybe that’s why he’s in the cusp of underground and mainstream. I can go in about Freddie’s bars for hours but I don’t think no one will care.
Gibbs is just as important as all the greats bro kendrick, wayne, pak, big, nas, he is a giant and he isn't respected as such by enough of the community in my opinion. Never misses.
Kenyatta5ttc on Johnsoentcr5x5 nah keep Wayne. Flows for days and sometimes he tells a story, other times it’s just twisted, kinda crazy wordplay. His ability to do it all and stay relevant puts him up there.
@@kenyatta5ttconjohnsoentcr589 bro wayne paved the rap game we've been listening to for like over 10 years now. Without him so many bigs wouldn't be here
Aight let's set the record straight: Hot pizza is ALWAYS better than cold pizza Cold pizza sometimes to be hittin different if you eatin it for breakfast but cold pizza is more often than not overrated
People forget the Alchemist is the former prodigee of DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill. Alchemist comes from excellence that what makes him one of the best ever.
A rapper is legend/goat status to me when they have a certain amount of certified classics. Could be songs or albums. Gibbs a living legend bro. Give this man his flowers. Al bodying every beat per usual nothing new here. Dude really gave us piñata, bandana, freddie, and Alfredo. Has gas every feauture he puts out.
I kinda want someone to do a retrospective on this album. One year later, it still feels as fresh as the day it dropped. Fuck. These guys are so insanely talented.
this project will be a classic. i don't say that for everything, but it's one of the few album i probably come back to the most, and i'm def not alone. also, the bonus vinyl exclusive track Daddy Loves You is fucking incredible
@@James_Wisniewski fuck yea u should cop yo, it sounds incredible on vinyl bro. i picked one up a few months ago, sadly wasn't the version with the bonus track as i later learned that's only on the alternate cover edition, but still very happy with it
In today’s streaming era of projects with 22 tracks that are over an hour long, the shear poignancy and efficiency of Alfredo makes it easily stand out as one of the best of the year so far. Pressed play , was pulled in for its entirety, and was shocked when I realized all that was only 35 minutes
I heard Tyler on Westside Gunn's album, now this album and then Lil Yatchy's. Mans hits the underground music harder than the mainstream rap stuff imo. Lowkey excited for Tyler to drop a rap album at some point
O.G artist who have reached instrumental (sonically perfect) flow Level: J. Cole Freddie Curren$y(Completely Rare) And hate it or not but Wale Each artist does NOT miss a note or open space on any track. Top Tier Flow!!
This album gives me Covert Coup vibes. Alchemist has the uncanny ability to take you to the clouds in the heavens on one track and the depths of hell on another. He and Madlib come from another planet. Freddie put out some of his very best work on this album. He's literally become one the best real rap artist in the game by force. You cannot deny his flow anymore. Feels like a masterpiece level of work from both. This is the best review of the album on RU-vid. ALFREDO is the AOTY right now. Respect on the GODS. Instant classic.
I think this is a natural extension of what Gibbs and Alchemist started on the "Fetti" project with Curren$y. The dark, tense feel of all the beats is super-similar. I love it.
Basically what Shawn said about the look at me track is my issue with it, but I still highly enjoy.it and think it's a top 3 Freddie Gibbs album with Piǹata being #1 and Bandana being number 2.
This album was straight fuego. Listened to it 4-6x that first morning it dropped. Still on repeat. Man should of been a ball player, can’t miss. Alch and Gibbs 🔊🎣
Im convinced that 500 ounces in the Westside Gunn Album was supposed to be in here but westside paid freddie and alchemist to have it on his album instead.
At first I was expecting that Madgibbs album this year but this is so satisfying as well and I know that their 3rd Collab album Montana will be monumental
Finally somebody who understands the feelings listening to an Alchemist produced track. It's like he taps into this weird pocket in my mind. I get goosebumps every time I listen to him.
Freddie Gibbs is top 5 imo. He could of held his own with big, jay, and all the greats. Let alone he could do songs with trap artist and still fit perfectly.
People raised by objects will slowly become objects themselves, no longer holding onto an internal identity, but finding fulfilment in brandnames, logos and ideologies.
To me the Tyler joint was really good and ty was really smooth on it and I was surprised to hear that side of him on this track. More like his older stuff but watered down in a way that's not as obnoxious. I however feel like he wasn't the right feature for the track because his subject matter just doesn't match Freddie's maybe I'm just saying that because I would have liked a earl feature on this record instead 😂
I think the subject matter he was talking about was meant to be opposite to Freddie. Freddie talks about the hustle and tyler about how he made it, the beat even gets a bit leighter on tlyers part.
Man i absolutely enjoy Gibbs ruthless, authentic aggression one of my favorite to listen to forsure. And combined that with the production in his projects and man does it really show this is AOTY so far imo
