0:53 He got those type of comments long before he ever performed Queen songs. :) They would come up to him after every Downhere (his old band) show and ask him, "You know who you remind me of?!"
Glad your enjoying Marc!! Suggest you follow up with Mercurotti which is Marc singing Nessun Dorma in the style of Luciano Pavarotti and Freddy Mercury. Truly an amazing watch!!

Hi Steve, I saw it! It was in one of my Live Streams. You should come join in one Monday night! We have lots of fun! 6pm EST! Hope to see you there! Cheers!
I’m really pleased that you’ve discovered Marc Martel and I think this is your third reaction to him now. Ive got great news for you though, his best cover (in my humble opinion) is Love of My Life. I can not recommend this cover highly enough. He absolutely slays it. Please add it to your future reactions…you thank me for it!
I was referring to a Video I watched where he teaches how to sound like Freddie. So, it is a special technique that he uses to get the "Freddie" sound.
@@TheSpeakEasyLounge No. In that video he clearly states that he can’t explain why he sounds like Freddie. He says it’s genetic. :-)) Marc recorded the video to demonstrate stylistic choices Freddie made, the main one was fully committing to lyrics. Watch the video and listen.
OMG!!! This gentleman is proof that God exists. I just wish I was playing that drums in this video. It would be one of the most perfect days of my life. God bless you Marc Martel!!
@@rochaal *no, because of the gift....this Voice is a gift...* His voice is a natural talent, there is no reason or evidence to think it's a 'gift'. Tell me, when you look at a pretty girl do you think she also received a 'gift' and yet her not so attractive friend didn't get such a gift at birth? How would it be fair for a god to bestow gifts on a few people at birth and not to the majority of us? Why should they get an advantage in life and not the rest of us? You see, all claimed gods in human history have all been indistinguishable from something that doesn't exist. There is no reason or evidence to believe any god has ever existed, including whatever god you believe in.
Put Marc's and Freddie's photos together and you will notice the eyebrows are similar, but the key is large jaw line. That's how he sings like Freddie.
I think Roger Taylor was asked once about why they haven’t used Marc for their concerts and he said something along the lines of Marc being so similar to Freddie that it would have been too difficult for him and Brian. Roger himself even said that if he closes his eyes it could be Freddie singing, high praise indeed.
He used to be! He's had his own band since 2017. Right now he's touring as: 1. The Ultimate Queen Celebration in North and South America, Isreal, Iceland and various other countries. 2. One Vision of Queen in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Same musicians - different producers/promoters. 3. Queen Show (with Ukrainian musicians) in Eastern Europe 4. Various solo concerts. 5. He also is a guest vocalist on various projects, like the Boston Pops, symphonic shows in Mexico, etc. He is performing with a Quebec orchestra for a charitable cause in August.
Thanks Marcel- There are so many! I have several coming out over the next few weeks! I will have to add this one to the list. Cheers & welcome to the Lounge!
You know, you can't sound that close to Freddie just by having similar pipes or timbre -- genetics will only get you so far. You have to be an amazing vocalist and musician in your own right, which Marc most definitely is. Now, here are a few fun facts: Marc Martel was born Nov 16, 1976, in Montreal. A pregnancy is 40 weeks, which puts the beginning of his at about Feb 9, 1976. Queen did their _A Night at the Opera_ tour in New York City from Feb 5, 1976 through Feb 8, 1976. Montreal is only a 370 mile drive from NYC, roughly 5.5 hours (a not-unheard-of drive for fans to see a Queen concert at their height). Now, not saying anything about anybody, and Marc's mom is by all accounts a fine Christian lady. But the time and place do coincide. It's easy to imagine a young music lover swept off her feet at a big city concert, doors opened for her by an experienced '70s Rock road crew, and we know Freddie was attracted to at least one woman, Mary Austin, to whom he was married for a while (1970-1976), and deeply loved. I don't know.... Lotta coincidences.... 😎
WOW- what a theory! LOL. But, as one of those female "Musician Fan's" (Best way to put it here on FB) I could see that happening! :) I was adopted too, so as a child I often wondered and dreamt that my bio father was some mysterious, famous interesting person- and the truth was stranger than anything I ever dreamt! LOL...Ya never know! Hope to see you tomorrow night at my Live Stream! 6pm EST! Come by and request your favorite song or artist! Chat with some of the Amazing TSEL loungers! @@papabearM3 I'm sure you're right, and I mean no disrespect to anyone. Just idle speculation, all in good fun, and certainly no harm intended. Plus, it's all information freely available on the Internet. You're watching music videos online, you have a couple minutes to investigate a hunch, you google someone's published birthdate, subtract 40 weeks on one of those date calculators that are easily googled. You begin to wonder if the group was even touring the US around that date, and you find all their historical tour dates by album and city on Wikipedia of all places. And not only is the singer in question in the US at the exact right time, but per google maps driving directions, he's only 300 miles away from the other guy's birthplace! About then is when the creepy female falsetto starts up in the background, "Woo-OOO-oooo....." lol But again, I'm sure you're right, and there are no doubt dozens of other facts that tell a different story. Just fan-inspired nonsense.... 😎
