Chico and the Man's "Chico Rodriguez" boxes Heavyweight Champ George Foreman . Clip taken from the Dick Van Dyke Show. I do not own the rights of this footage. Aired November 25, 1976
what a great comedian freddie prinze was he is so greatly missed even nearly 50 years after his death. i still watch chico and the man via streaming. it's just as funny as i remember. rip freddie i hope you found the peace you never found in life.
Hello. I have almost the entire Chico and the Man series & I'm currently in talks with NBC seeking permission to post the series on RU-vid. I need support. I don't want to anger NBC by having 100s of people email them, so I thought a petition would be a better way to show that there's interest in the series. Can I count on your support to sign the petition asking NBC to allow me to post the series here? (& if it's not too much to ask, please spread the word about the petition) Thank you. Petition: chng.it/wqVKGnh5
How exactly was he a genius??? lol....the man had terrible mental health issues. He was nuts. Paranoid. Egotistical. He wanted to murder people at one point. Hardly a genius. His stuff is hardly funny when you watch it now.

Chico and the Man of course. To be honest, we don’t need the entire series. We just need only the episodes featuring Prinze. He did 39 shows i think. Once he passed and they kept it goin, the show sucked.
@@ghanasoul Yea, maybe I'll just post those episodes, assuming NBC gives me permission. (you know how big media corporations are) I researched & the show hasn't been in TV syndication in more than a decade, it's never been officially released on VHS, DVD, or BlueRay, and it's not available via any streaming service. (I got an unofficial DVD copy of the series, online, for $25) I've been emailing every programming director, marketing & PR executive at NBC (can't find email for NBC's legal dept.) & asking if they'll give me permission. (via email, so I can show RU-vid, if/when they give me a take down notice for copyright infringement) I really hope NBC does. They have nothing to lose & can gain only appreciation & goodwill if they grant me permission to post the episodes. (and would make a lot of Chico fans, very happy) If I can't get permission, I might just post them anyway & just see what happens. I see people have the entire "The Rifleman" series here, and it hasn't been taken down. I really wish I could get just 100 signatures on my petition. I think it might help a little. Anyway, thanks for your reply. Stay safe. :)

@@armandocervantes6291 Thank you for your support but I talked to one of the head execs over at Warner Bros. (who now own the rights to Chico & the Man) & they turned me down. 😔 Thanks again.
@@armandocervantes6291 Nope. There are no plans or interest in streaming & the show has been out of TV syndication for over a decade. (& there's zero chance of a DVD/BlueRay boxset release) Sadly It's just one of those shows that will forever be lost to history. And for whatever it's worth, the executive at Warner Brother's was very polite. She's a very powerful & high up exec & she didn't even have to reply to my email. But she did & that+ was nice of her. I just wish she would've gave me permission to post some Chico videos. I don't understand what it could hurt. There is NO money to be made off the series. It's a dead series. Anyway, you can always buy the crappy (quality) DVD boxset like I did, for $25. The transfer quality is crap, the episodes are not in order, and the commercials aren't edited out, but I guess it's better than nothing. (barely) The 5 episode "TV Favorites" from Warner Bros. is excellent. A+ quality.
Foreman losing to Ali might have been the best thing to happen to George Foreman. After that loss, Foreman took a deep, introspective look at the direction his life was taking, realized he wanted something different - and became in many respects, to my mind, a National Treasure.
@Ben Rounds And many of us still think he's a great man. He is still my hero; even after all the hate and racism he faced, in spite of his many contributions, and goldiggers digging up dirt long past the statutes of limitations. I can relate to his most hateful situation because l too endured/am enduring racism due to jealousy. If the judicial system were to open up cases of unfair lynchings and kangaroo courts in recent history, it could prove overwhelming. At times l am outraged when l think about it.
Loved Freddy. He, and Ali were good friends, and he use to spar with him. His son said he framed a bloody towel when he bloodied Ali with a left. Ali, another childhood hero of mine.

Who knows how Freddie's life and career would have developed had he not taken his own life. Always what could have been. He still makes a lasting impression. Anyone notice Billy who later developed the character Super Dave Osborne
Undoubtedly Freddie would have gone on to achieve in the late 70s what Eddie Murphy would achieve in the mid 80s & maybe more. Freddie was destined for world wide fame & popularity.

I'll tell you what, that was a real right hand ... look at Freddie Prinze's head at 4:14 and how it reacts to his punch. It was a flush landing for a skit
Lol it’s a skit or between them they had a playwright of how it would go down between them, you can tell that’s not reall full force fighting. Just for entertainment, and he was funny in the end.
About 2 months after this was aired Freddie Prinze was knocked down by a self-inflicted wound, and this time he never got back up. Unfortunately he was able to make millions laugh, but he had a hard time making himself laugh.
The 1970s was the last decade of the inosent America when children believed in Santa, and young people respected the oldest the mailman used to drink water from the front yard garden hose and no internet no cellphones fast food was very cheap and Levi's were made in usa
Freddie didn’t seemed to thrilled to be there honestly. Especially afterwards during his defeat speech. I could imagine he didn’t like being called just Chico since no one even said Freddie
I bet he didn’t like repeatedly being referred as “Chico” instead of his real life name. Ik that’s his characters name, but apparently he hated the name off screen since it does mean little boy in Spanish
