Ive been a live performer since 1980..I took alot from the master....I remember the live @ the palladium where it all started....Freddie is a legend, & one of the very best elvis voices out there
A true genius especially with his tv work,his impressions was second to none his love for Elvis and the Jordanaires . From the Royal variety performance to Des O’Connor and his live performances. He was a master of comedy. Never again will there be anybody like him. The comedians today are shit. So wrongly accused and so sadly missed.

I saw him in Scarborough many years ago and he was amazing. Watching this just displays the depths that he sank to in later life. So sad to see such great entertainer become so crude and un watchable.
Saw Freddie in Bournemouth.I remember an elderly man became ill during the show and Freddie jumped off stage to see him.He will always be remembered and sadly missed
Trouble is it wasn't a prank. This is what got him thrown off TV. It was a double lined Perspex box with live maggots on the outside section and rice on the inner. He was meant to throw the rice at the audience but threw the maggots instead. Plus after seeing him in a documentary made at his home in Spain showing the really nasty side of him, his entertaining was over. I'm sure he had his demons as often really super talented people did but he just took it too far and his attitude throughout the docu was just so poor.
@@philjoneshammersleyHe did to start off with but the female comedian got a load in her hair and that's what really got him banned from ever appearing on TV again. This is before the alledged sexual abuse towards his kids. Pity, he was excellent but the documentary on him really finished my admiration from him. Either he was always a nasty guy or stardome really got to him. He did however have a really tough childhood.
Some moments seem good at first but the more you watch the worse it gets. Just using others really and getting away with whatever he wants for the stage.

Yeah, the blackface bit has aged especially well, although I'm pretty sure it was still considered a cunt move back in the 80's or 90's or whenever he was popular. He counted Jimmy Saville as a friend as well, top bloke indeed!

Agree. Do people here know *why* doing blackface is not a good idea? Freddie was hugely talented. It's a shame he was a misogynistic racist. I wouldn't ban him, I am for free speech. But he did perpetuate very harmful ideas. Racism is real. Homophobia is real. Misogyny is real. There's no need to perpetuate it. Peter Kay doesn't and he is one of the best comedians ever.
Joost Kiefte this was his act off screen as well as many other TV comedians who are household names. This was a completely different time as well when comedy could be comedy and people laughed without being “offended”
