Freddy Starr was born in Ulster Road, Liverpoolt the age of four, he moved with his family to Huyton. One of seven children, Starr was the son of a bricklayer, who was often unemployed. According to Freddy, his mother Hilda was from Germany and was Jewish
Freddys father, was also a bare-knuckled boxer, was drunk he repeatedly beat Starr up when he was a young child. In one incident, his father broke both of his son's legs.
Freddy stopped speaking, and was taken into care. As a result of these experiences, he was teetotal for life.[8] In his 2001 autobiography Unwrapped, Starr gives speech problems as the reason he spent two years away from home as a child.[9] He attended Sylvester's Primary, and later Huyton Secondary Modern. His father died when Starr was in his early teens.[7][10]
Throughout his life he was married five times, fathering six children. Before Mr Starr took himself away to enjoy the Spanish sun, he had landed himself in the press for a number of less than flattering issues including his ex-wife leaving him for a younger man
Freddy Starr was found dead at his home in Mijas, on the Costa del Sol, Spain, on 9 May 2019, aged 76. A post-mortem showed that he died from coronary artery disease.

He had many celebrities as friends who didn't club together to bring his body home and arrange his funeral. It was a funeral company that went and got him from Spain and put him to rest. Thank-you

I agree with you User, it does seem a shame there was no money left at the end and nobody could provide the funds until the funeral director did and there's no name on the stone.

Isn’t it funny how life turns out…..watching him again now on your clip of him doing his brilliant Mick Jagger impersonation, and who would have believed that although very sadly Freddie has passed on, Mick is still prancing about and singing on stage with the remaining Stones at his age of 80! 81 this July26th!! Just incredible how he’s kept going,….it’s the swings and roundabouts of life! But I’d never have believed Freddie would have gone when he was always so full of life and energy. RIP Freddie and thanks for all the entertainment and laughs you gave us. 🌹❤️🕊️

Firstly, thank you for your wise words ( so true) and presentation. At 74 I watch Freddie singing Elvis with his one time backing group the Jordonairs, what a fantastic representation of the king, so, so, so good! As a youngster I found him so funny, although now older I don’t enjoy it so much. However, his Audience with Freddie Star in later years I find, in the main, sensibly funny! The Yew Tree investigation was so wrong as far as Freddie was concerned. These types of investigation SHOULD NOT be made public UNTIL convicted, anything else destroys, as in Freddie’s case, a persons reputation and can ruin them financially if unable to recover their legal costs, as in Freddie’s case. Sadly his early life was tragic, resulting in his turbulent and aggressive private life. Freddie escaped from this side of him on stage, one could say he was a man with a split personality. One can say the showbiz face of Freddie deserves to be remembered fondly, such a mix of greats talents. To die in such an ignominious way is so sad and the people responsible for his fall from favour should be absolutely ashamed of themselves!! It also saddens me to think that NO one he knew from the world of showbiz helped him in his hour of need or in death by way of funding his final journey or having his name etc entered on his parents headstone, shame on you!! Freddie Star you were as GREAT showman! Rest In peace!!

Back in 1993 I bumped into Freddie (who had just got out of his Mercedes sports car) behind the St Davids theatre in Cardiff. He was a star. Very friendly and funny just being himself and chatting. He asked if I was going to watch the show later that evening to which I responded no. He laughed and said: why, ain't I funny enough for you. I loved Freddie, and it was hard to watch his struggles in later life. Thanks for this one Alan, brought back the great memory of when I met him👍

Freddie was so funny I remember watching him over the years. The last program I saw was a documentary of him living in Spain he looked so old probably wasn't so long after that he died. I didn't realise he had such a hard time growing up . Thought he would of had his own grave or at least be named on that one. One thing about watching your videos is I've learnt a lot about famous people their private lives of screen. Thanks for sharing love from Holmfirth West Yorkshire 💜 🫰
@MotorHomeBeepBeep
@MotorHomeBeepBeep 15 дней назад
Hi Gill and I've learned a lot whilst doing the films. Just like you watching is the same for both of us. The only thing you begin to realize is that that once these people have gone people forget the location but remember them from film and television only mostly. This is the case with Freddy his job he did very well and we enjoy watching me included but the person behind it was very different bankrupt at the end and that is why there was no individual grave with a reference. His own life was very bad at the end. It's quite a leveling thing. The famous people sometimes are much poorer than the unfamous people because their personal lives sometimes are deficient. Thank you as always for your support and comments.I always enjoy reading them. Much love, Alan

Great one Alan. Yes he was funny but I always thought he had a bit of a bad streak. Not surprising though with the way he was brought up. I wonder why his name was not on the grave stone along with his mum and dad. It seemed quite humble for such a big well known 'star'. A turbulent life but he gave many many laughs along the way.. You are right...who wants stardom??!! Content enough to be healthy and happy (although this is life and we cannot be happy all them time), but we must try. You always put things into perspective. Thanks Alan.

The allegations made against him I don't know the truth but he died pitifully & broke ...Such a sad ending to a man with a phenomenal singing voice & a great way to make you laugh...Rest Well Freddie...!

If you by any chance saw a piece of slate somewhere on Freddie's grave that said, to Freddie Starr from Jamie RIP, that was from me. Freddie Starr is without question my all time favourite British comedian. He was so unpredictable, neither the audience or those who knew him personally know what tricks he would pull from his sleeve. Sadly, I never got the chance to see the man himself live on stage. His last tour was back in 2015, four years before his death. My late Nan knew him before he was famous, back when he was just Frederick Fowell. Both of them were born in Liverpool, grew up in Huyton and even went to the same schools. Not to mention some of her ashes are buried in the same cemetery where Freddie is.

Hello Sandra, I do the channel as a hobby because I like it and things happen in life when you don't have the time. So that's how I upper it. I'm not really desperate to build it up, but I love it when people subscribe and join if they enjoy it. And now I've just retired. I'll probably do more. In fact, I'll start to the second channel but I'm telling places and the hotels RU-vid is great fun. Thank you, alan

He was hilarious in his hey day. It makes me annoyed that these SA investigations allow the naming of a suspect and when no charges have been laid the stigma still sticks, it just shouldn't happen. He suffered a very sad decline which he never recovered from. On a personal note, if I had been abused by my father my last resting place would be anywhere but with him. Perhaps due to financial reasons there wasn't much choice. Let's remember Freddie as the funny and entertaining man he was and not his final tragic years

Hi, Ive looked at dozens of your vids and Ive gave them all a well-deserved Thumbs Up. , I've never commented before because- the content - presentation, and narrator are all first-class. But as you asked for comments- - you should drop the Beep Beep on the intro as its out of context - not Thomas the Tank or selling ice lollies to little children And you didn't mention Freddie best - When he threw maggots ain the All-Star audience. - which I guess was rice - from a pot inside the glass pot full of maggots. Please don't ban me - Cos I like your Vids Cliff +

Hello Cliff, originally I was going to do a travel channel from the motorhome and by accident, the first location had a graveyard with Sylvia Plath and I enjoyed doing the bio and learning about Sylvia and I went in from there so I'd never changed the name or the intro. I just wanted something that made it memorable but I get your point. The main thing is that you enjoy the content and thank you very much for taking the time. Best you dance. I'll watch out for you Alan
