I think I found why Five Nights at Freddy's Security Breach was so broken. Freddy Fazbear is cursed. My permadeath playthrough of XCOM 2 (Including Freddo Fazbone) is currently ongoing on my twitch page www.twitch.tv/backseatstreams
Honestly, the fact that such a failsafe exists makes me proud of the XCOM developers. I believe the bug here is by some weird order of operations the alien died from the acid, and *then* attempted to carry out his turn while dead. Since a dead character can't do anything, the game softlocked. A lesser developer wouldn't make an out for a softlock like this and just make you restart, but now it feels like you're rewarded for the bug since you got a free turn rather than punished, which is the best way to handle it.
@@Enzoch42 To clarify, this isn't what regularly happens when an enemy dies to DoT effects. Almost always it marks them as dead, their turn gets removed, and it plays the next enemy's. It's not easily exploitable because it doesn't normally happen, but if someone manages to figure out said exploit somehow and uses it, that's fine, because players like figuring out how to trick the game, and feel engaged in doing so. It doesn't hurt your player base because XCOM is a primarily offline franchise, and there are a number of other possibilities that could cause turn stalling like this. It's an efficient catch-all that covers a number of possible unforseen glitches in a way that won't upset the player.
@@Enzoch42 sometimes it's impossible to remove all bugs, so having failsafes for the bugs is the next best thing. I like the way XCOM did it because if I were the player in this situation I'd be extremely angry at the game if I had to restart. But this way, you get rewarded for getting a bugged game so you feel good about it.
@@Enzoch42 best way means perfect. and no person can achieve perfect, this is not the best way but its definitely a good one. rather than being softlock, you have to wait for a few minutes and you get a free turn.
Security Breach was originally a perfect and finely polished game until they implemented the living virus known as Freddy. We'd all thought that Glitchtrap would have been the antagonist but it was Freddy all along!
Freddy was Glitchtrap's apprentice all along! And he didn't tell anything to Vanessa because he was jealous and fighting for Glitch's attention. What a turn! (I'm joking)
I'm naming my next character in a FROMSOFTWARE game as some form of Freddy... and then proceed to use every exploit Ymfah used in that game (if you don't know who he is, I highly recommend his channel).
I could only imagine whenever the Skyranger took off, we'd see a "POV: You're an ADVENT Officer" as the image is that helicopter carrying Freddy; with of course the Skyranger poorly photoshopped in as the helicopter
The Alien turn was interrupted when the Berserker died from Acid while it was trying to take an action. It happens sometimes. The game knows it can happen, so the AI faction can only have its turn for so long before it defaults to the next on the roster. Far as I know. So yes. Freddy can out-process the Aliens.
When the mods and glitches are the best thing from Security Breach, i even saw the model of Kratos being swapped with Glamrock Freddy, Gregory was Atreus, from ToastedShoes. I still forget what the story of SB is about.
Advent thought the true fear of facing Freddy Fazbear was facing Freddy himself... Little did they know it was Freddy's hidden ability to manipulate space and time to his will
Ok, going into this, I thought it would be some elaborate glitch where security breach and some other game happen to use the same file name to store something, so by doing certain things in security breach, you could manipulate things in the other game.
@@ruthless3118Lmao did you fr not get it? I ment that instead of the game becoming harder for us, becose of that glitch the ai broke meaning that now it was *difficult* for the ai. It's a joke, do you know what that is?
Yeah from what I hear everyone who plays Xcom 2 sees that bug at least once, even me. The real dilemma is do you keep playing with cheese-for-brains enemies for easy missions or do you do it legit and bring back the heartache?
I had a glorious bug that stopped the enemy from being able to do anything. Every. Single. One. And it lasted for a ton of missions, until the game crashed
It actually hung there for pretty much a full minute, and no aliens moved (even off screen). I believe the alien that died from acid right as their turn started was supposed to move first, and had his actions all queued up. So when it died as the turn started the game just locked up!
I have some knowledge on the events inside, something to do with berserker and DoTs ending them screwing with decision making; sometimes it remains stuck.
Could you imagine a game breaking because the game for some reason tried getting game files from security breach and freddy appeared as a character model
From the title I got the impression that you somehow executed arbitrary code in a pc game (executing arbitrary code is basically when you somehow get a game into a state where it reads code it's not supposed to for executing tasks said code is not meant for, executing arbitrary code has allowed for quite a few insane speedruns such as the TAS for super Mario bros. 3 being able to wrong warp to the credits upon loading the game for a time of less than 1 second, the super Mario world speedrun wrong warping to the credits in the first level, and in paper Mario 64 where they execute arbitrary code using stop & swap to execute code from an entirely different game resulting in the speedrun spending most of it's time playing Ocarina Of Time instead of the game it's speedruning)
I can't belive in 2035 xcom deployed Freddy fazbear against the advent forces none of them stood a chance against the hell fire he would bring not even the avatar
For a second I thought the game itself had breached (ha) its own perimeters and infected other games, and I was like "yeah that makes sense for security breach" lmao
my headcanon is freddys rocket missile had murdered the alien so hard that all the other aliens were terrified at his sheer power so now they are just frozen in fear
This happened to me on the final mission every time I mind controlled an enemy soldier I would use up all my men then it would say alien activity but none of the enemies would move and after 3 minutes it went to my turn this didn’t happen when I was in the final room because I didn’t mind control but I think it’s because the games 6 years old and has an outdated system idk
