This is the first pinball video I've ever watched on youtube, let alone the first time I've ever heard pinball being spoken of as anything more than 'make the ball hit things'. I honestly thought thats all there was to the game. This was super interesting and I think I just found a new rabbit hole to dive down.

I like the idea of a time mechanic where something special can happen from surviving long enough and not just from hitting a certain target.

I remember the Freddy Krueger pinball machine at the laundromat in North Carolina. I didn’t know who Freddy Krueger was but the pinball machine scared me itself. Come to think of it one of my earliest longest fears was Freddy Krueger and his only appearance was this pinball machine. I’m scared of this old man with bad skin trying to stab me with his hands

I played this at the pinball hall of fame in las vegas last year. Pretty fun table, it was probably set on easy as all I had to do to keep winning credits was shooting for the boiler room and not let the ball drain. Still fun!

I had no idea pinball machines ever had that many features, I haven't played many at all. Too bad the Freddy hands always get so beat up. Hopefully you can get some 3d printed claws made and just rotate them in and out as needed to keep that bad boy in service. Sweet video thanks for taking the time to show us !!

I went to a Bionic Burger on Wichita Ks when i was in high school with my mother. Place was quiet. Not very big. Few folks in there. There was one of these in there, and my mother decided to lean back against it and hit the flipper button, and if i recall correctly, it loudly said, "I'll break your fingers!" In a Freddy voice. She screamed and jumped about 3 feet forward to a bit of laughter and stares. We took our order to go.

My wife bought me one of those autogroaphed backings off of Robert's site years ago. We had it lit and framed. It's pretty sweet to look at.

Nice video! Freddy was my first pinball machine I ever owned (and still own it) and it really is highly underrated. As you demonstrated, there are so many cool features to the game once you learn the rule set and it can be quite challenging to master the shots required, especially the Krueger Combo which is super satisfying but difficult unless your game is well configured. Left Flipper or Glove Flipper to Captive Ball to Upper Flipper to Upkicker behind Freddy's head to Right Flipper and then around the head again. I too had Robert sign my translite, though I took it to him in persona at a convention and not only did he customize it for me, he shared a few stories about the day he recording the voice samples for the game and then even started telling me gameplay tips because he owns one as well and shared a few "secrets" to beating the game. I already knew the details, but I certainly wasn't going to interrupt the man telling me himself! Ha! This game is also super fun to customize with NECA Freddy accessories or other custom mods. I'll have to shoot video of mine again soon. I haven't posted on Pinside in a while, but I've been working on some sweet fully custom mods that I'll share progress soon.

I got a project Freddy last weekend, finally have it up and running 100% and boy do I love it! Been a HUGE Freddy fan since the 90s and this game is lots of fun. I have a total of 14 pinball tables and find this one very fun.

I went to the arcade every weekend as a kid to play this pinball game. It's very nostalgic and draws you in with all the audio and graphics.

Hated? I actually loved this pinball machine and had a lot of fun with it when I tried it at the Pinball Hall Of Fame, Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Retrovolt Arcade, Calimesa, California. I wished it was included in the Pinball Arcade app back in the early - mid 2010s.

Wow, this brought back a memory from my very early childhood. During one vacation with my family, we stayed at a hotel with an arcade room where my cousins and I would go play. This machine was in that room, and I remember it despite never going near it (I was too small at the time to really be able to play pinball machines and my cousins warned me that it was based on a horror movie) because I distinctly remember Freddy's laugh and the music it would play. For some reason it was the loudest machine in the arcade. I wonder if said hotel still has the machine, it's been well over 20 years...

One of our Tournament players has a perfect condition Nightmare. My buddy shopped it out for him. Plays Great

I've rarely seen this one pop up in worst pins list. Bugs Bunny's Birthday Ball, Motordome or Raven are often cited as the worst.

I'm not very familiar with pinball maschines. I've played a few like Terminator and The Who but always thought it is all about highscores. Never knew that you actually have to do quests like in other games. This is the coolest thing i've ever heard.

I have faint but great memories of playing pinball machines as a young kid, probably not Freddy but back then I had no idea how complex the gameplay is in pinball in general. Thanks for this video, I think the history regarding the patenting of game elements and how competing companies got around them (and created their own fun aspects in the process) is really interesting!

Being in this planet all this time and have played plenty of pinball games and not once did I ever realize there’s a way to beat pinball cabinets. Just thought it was a high score type of game with no end.

I've never heard of anyone hating this table. Maybe annoyed when trying to repair it, but not when actually playing it.

This pinball game got me into Freddy Krueger and A Nightmare on Elm Street movies.

There was one of these at the snack shack of the state park I worked in in the late 90s/early aughts and we played it so often. I’d randomly quote the Freddy voice throughout the day (“coffee, tea or ME?”) 😂

I remember playing this in the early 2000s at a roller rink in Wisconsin back when going to the roller rink was still a thing people did, and I really loved it, it's a very fun table. I would love to have a pinball machine, especially the Freddy nightmare on elm street table.

I played it at the Vegas Pinball Museum a few weeks ago, not in perfect working order but it was one of the 1st couple machines I played that day. Loved playing it but I didn't commit enough time to it since they had a hundred pins to play. DEFINITELY check out the Vegas Pinball Museum if you're in town it was dope! That Freddy pinball machine looks so damn good. Wish I had the space to have a whole ass pinball gallery to play around with, but not only are the tables themselves expensive but to afford that extra space is even deeper. But that's why I always resort to video games like the Zen Studio Pinball games and the William's Collection games, pretty much the answer to any pinball enthusiasts prayers right there. I really like the niche pinball video games out there especially ones with characters like Sonic or Mario, or even Samus with Metroid Prime Pinball on the DS.

Let’s goooo pinball mentioned!!! Honestly gottlieb did have some stumbles but I would still be a fan of owning a Freddy. I had never even heard of Operation: Thunder by Gottlieb when it came up for sale for 1,300 in working condition 8 hours away, but man is that also a crazy fun game! I’ll get my own arcade opened eventually, currently sitting at owning 80 some machines, it’s a disease!!!

Definitely miss this one, there was one in town for so long but it broke down beyond repairs and balls kept getting stuck to where the table kept complaining about missing balls in the table.

I'll tell you this (as a broke guy), if I had had the luckiest luck ever and somehow ended up with this RARE machine, sent the back glass off for a signature, and had your similar story happen, I would ABSOLUTELY BE LLIIVVIIDD.

This would have been a great machine for a topper for the top of the backbox. Say a Freddy head that rotates slightly, maybe opening and closing it's eyes and additional sound effects could come from its mouth. If it was manufactured, it would have had an interface to connect it to the top of the backbox and it would have an "interactive attract and during play sequence" that is added to an existing machine via a daughtercard to the main CPU and sound unit. It could also be turned to "attract only" so it does not annoy the player. Great video on the Freddy machine!! I think it deserves a second look and a spot in a collection.

A bowling alley near my parents had a Nightmare pinball table. It was hard but it kept me coming back, even though I didn’t bowl! Addams Family is still my favorite but this game had some great, weird features.

This is too much lol I was 30 years old before i learned pinball actually had rules or there was strategy i always thought it was "dont lose the ball" and my parents were fascinated by shiny lights and things.

I played so much virtual pinball because there’s so many free games on like PlayStation, but nothing beats the feel of the machine. Local place has stuff like Addams Family, 007, Indiana Jones, something WWE, and some classics and it’s always so fun, unfortunately no modern machines but I have played a Stranger Things one

Looks like a game called Carnival that had a Ventriloquist dummy's head you where able to make choke on the pinball if you got it in his mouth. Game was hysterical to play EDIT: JUST as I was done typing this you mentioned FUNHOUSE which was the game i was referring to

The Glove-flipper, kinda looks like it might be fix by recreating parts or the whole thing by 3D printing and resin, but use coat of rubber resin so it doesn't snap off? (not a expert)
