I did like how the mythologies of the three series fit together rather well. Crystal Lake being Jason walking distance to Springwood, so the Necronomicon being involved with the origins of Jason and Freddy could work. This could connect many other Slasher mythologies if they wanted to. Like ... Chucky learning the infamous voodoo spells from his teacher actually being a page from the book. The book itself be a old form of a Lament Configuration for the Pinhead nod (The chaotic demons of "Old Hell" of Deadites vs the new Orderly Cenobites of Leviathan). And so on.

Okay, I'm only 8 minutes into the review...but I seriously need to find this comic. Just...just...GAAAH! THE IDEA IS SOOO COOL! Freddy v. Jason was a great idea that I'll defend any day for sheer cool factor, and to throw in Ash and his craziness is pure genius.

That was one hell of a way to end the nightmare on elm street comic reviews, close out Halloween, and start the Contest of Champions. Great job Lewis!

The first time I watched this I knew nothing of the stories Linkara put in his videos but re watching this now, I love that 90's dude is repeating the "what are you going to do?" line.

Something I literally just learned is that Jason's famous sound "Ch-ch-ch-ah-ah-ah" is actually him saying "Ki-Ki-Ki-Ma-Ma-Ma" as in kill, mom. Just felt like sharing.

So, linkara is entering a multiversal tournament and the winner gets the freaking infinity gauntlet............... GROOVY!!!!!

Freaking love Linkara's reaction to the sporting attitude of his opponent there. That half second of "Wait... You're being friendly to me. What!?" Dude's so not used to his fights ending with respect. Also, maybe it's just cause I binged the second half of season 2 recently, but the "What kind of Champion are you going to be?" line screams Hero Aca to me.

I have heard rumours this could still happen in the Ash Vs. Evil Dead series. Robert Englund was apparently on board with appearing on the show for a yet undisclosed role and I'd imagine Ken Kirzinger or Kane Hodder would be well on board for the role of Jason. Plus if they adapted it into the series they could go pretty all out with it without having to cut much storywise. Maybe have to tone it down some but as long as I get to see Ash criticize Jason for stealing his weapon-hand shtick, I can die happy.

I like to think that it's Jason who makes those "chee-chee-chee ha-ha-ha" noises. It's how he communicates. It's just that unfortunately all he usually wants to communicate is "I'm about to stab you!" Also I like the way he ignores everyone in the store at first because it reminds me of the Borg. Hey - there's a crossover idea. Star Trek vs Freddy vs Jason... whoever gets assimilated, we're doomed!

I'm almost always against killing off the protagonists of the previous movie, because in most cases it ruins the "happy end" of that movie in hindsight. I can't enjoy the ending of the Bourne Identity for example. When I was a kid I HATED the second Ewok movie, because it rendered the entire first movie pointless in a gruesome way within the first few minutes. The entire love story of the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie is pointless as well, because we know they won't have a happy ending. And I reject the new Star Wars movies - as entertaining as they might be - as canon, because I reject the idea that after all the shit Luke, Han and Leia and the entire Rebellion went through, that not only do they all die in just another war, but also that their entire effort was basically for nothing, because the new republic they were fighting for didn't get a single minute of screentime before being wiped out in a single move by an inexplicably even larger and better equipped Empire, which STILL hasn't been explained. Some heroes simply deserve their happy ending and should be left in peace is all I'm saying.

Here's hoping we eventually get a secret origins month/ retrospective month on the Amalgam Universe from its inception with the "DC Vs. Marvel" event to its undoing. I feel like that's a thing that needs to be revisited in pop culture.

"Tournament arc!" It's nice to see a storyline video end with Linkara excited! After all the serious stuff that's gone down over the last few years, this is a great direction to go in. And the fact that the matches can be almost anything reminds me of some of the best parts of Hunter x Hunter...or maybe the original Shadow Games from Yu-Gi-Oh, only without someone being set on fire hopefully.

Happy Halloween everyone. I've spent my halloween night by watching Freddy vs. Jason for the first time and it's a really entertaining movie. I havne't seen any of the other Nightmare on Elm street or Friday the 13th, but I have no trouble following the plot of this movie and it was a blast to see Freddy and Jason duke it out in a R rated movie. But yeah, throwing Ash into the mix, that would fun :D

I'm really really curious about the arrangement between Moarte and Linkara.

I just really want to thank you for doing this comic. Copies of it go for an arm and a leg on Amazon, so barring some unforeseen windfall, this is probably the closest I'll come to actually reading it for a while.

I agree with the mishandling of killing off Will and Laurie at the beginning of this. It's the same problem I had with Elm Street 4: Dream Master, where the characters from the 3rd movie were killed off barely halfway through. It's a waste just to build up characters we like and then kill them off in a sequel without being able to be part of the story. The worst this happened to was Jamie Lloyd from the Halloween franchise (and unlike Laurie, Jamie still hasn't gotten a chance to come back). I much prefer if they either just have the survivors either leave and have a happy ending or given the treatment that Nancy Thomas got in Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, where she is part of the story before dying.

Oh. I love how Powerful Freddy became. I love Freddy Krueger he's so Awesome.

To be fair, Linkara, most of the Friday the 13th films do take place on that day, or the day just before or after it. It's also Jason's birthday, and the day that he drowned.

This was a great Halloween Treat, thanks for all the hard work. Love the pay off with the tie in to LongBox. Can't wait for the new arc!

What a cool idea for a comic! Shame about some of the bigger plotholes, and the inconsistent art (and the, uh, kinda creepy bits with Ash and the teenage girls o.O), but hey, good fight scenes are good fight scenes. And it's great to see the three universes share ground so well. Crossovers, w0000~ And that's a pretty great beginning for the Contest arc. Linkara confronting his issues on what's happened recently, another round against Fredntity, and Linkara pulling out the imagination to win against this opponent. And Jason beating up Freddy with Fred just going "Ow Ow Ow" constantly was funnier than it had any right to be. XD Same with Linkara's opponent actually being a rather cool chick in the end. Hope we get to see her again later on! :) For now, enjoy your rest with half-a-Secret Orgins Month.

I actually got these comics as a birthday present. I enjoyed them and thought they were pretty good. I first learned of them when I heard that there was going to be a "Freddy Vs. Jason" sequel, and that Robert Englund had already created a movie poster when the whole thing was cancelled. Also, it's better than Nightmare Warriors. By the way, someone apparently wrote a script for a new Friday movie in the mid-2010's, and the idea sounded amazing. It would've had Cheech and Chong as stoner counselors at Camp Crystal Lake who have to fend against Jason in the vein of "Abbott And Costello Meet Frankenstein". How awesome would that have been?

I really hope that we get an Army of Darkness Halloween Month one year. Everyone talks about the Marvel Zombies crossover, but there's been Xena, Reanimator, Darkman, Bubba Ho-Tep, a huge ongoing, and even one with a full on team of Ash, Red Sonja, Vampirella, Herbert West, Dracula and... Athena. Yeah.
