Mompou's style is oftenly concrete and synthetical, leaning towards simplicity and deep expression, reaching mystical intensity in some of his late works. However, Suburbis is rather an impressionistic work, influenced by the french school, where he describes scenes he saw and heard during his many walkings around the suburban area of Barcelona.
