We found a hidden gem on route 66 near Peach Springs, AZ to camp for free. It's not easy to find Crozier Ranch. It doesn't come up on google when I searched campground and it's not on Campendium. You'll find it on iOverlander and The Dyrt.
It's a great FREE place to stay right off route 66 about 12 miles from Peach Springs, AZ. Plenty of room on both sides of the hwy to camp with amazing views. There are no facilities like trash or bathrooms. Also no tables or numbered sites. Be respectful and find a place that looks like it's been camped in before and enjoy your stay.
Our main reason for staying her was the close proximity to Peach Springs. We wanted to try the drive to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Definitely recommend this drive especially in the spring. You need a permit to access the road and it available at the Tribal Fish & Game on route 66. There is a fee and it's per person.
