Awesome job Jami. I’m 74 and my mom and I upholstered tons of chairs and sofas and made drapes and bedspreads. My health isn’t where I can do it anymore but I enjoyed watching you. 💕🌸

I love that old window and I love the history of old homes and old items. My last house had an old window between kitchen and the add on back porch. I loved the light from it. I would rather have old with character than new. I have some places in the house we just remodeled where I left "character" as I call it. My dad was doing the work and I said "no you can leave that I like it's character" and it made his job easier lol.

🦋I recently used belts I purchased at Goodwill, for straps on the seatless chair I had. I covered a pillow for the seat. I finished the chair with Apothecary, Dark Wax, and Coper patina Pennies From Heaven. On my FB Page. I’m watching this on the replay.

I love all the shiplap and beadboard ceilings. In a house do over that was probably designed and built while on mind altering drugs in the 60's I put bead board on every ceiling where it was possible. I created a beadboard structure around around the toilet to make it look like an outhouse. I miss that house in Vermont so much.

So happy to see you working on a chair. I love finding old chairs. I recently bought two antique straight-back Windsor chairs with braces for $18 and two chunky-wood round-back Windsor chairs (probably Amish made) for $9 at Goodwill. Can't wait to paint the round-back ones and cover up the turquoise spray paint :( with Bead Board. Love what you did with this chair.

Didn’t really get to watch live this morning because my grandkids came over while my daughter went on a Santa run for her husband’s Christmas present. So watching now. I just wanted to say, Jami & Zeb, this kind of project always seemed totally out of my reach. I have few carpentry skills but on your advice, I did buy a jigsaw. Now it looks like I COULD do it. May never get there but the world is quickly becoming my oyster! Thank you very much. Now. Just need to join the Creative Business group!! Leslie
@JamiRayVintage
@JamiRayVintage 3 года назад
You can do it! And Zeb cut your cutting board, and it’s all oil waxed. And I stamped your metal bucket with flour and did a big wheat stencil. They should get shipped out with your other items tomorrow or Friday. May take a few boxes ❤️❤️❤️. I suggest just practicing cuts on scrap wood with your jig. And keep those fingers out of the way. You can do it.

@lollylolly8186
@lollylolly8186 3 года назад
I use the original seat for the pattern if the chair still has a seat. Then add the wood seat and wet it so it starts to form to the shape, especially if there is a dip or curve. If you are in no hurry, wet the seat and allow it to dry and mold for as long as you can. Outside preferably. Jami that chair looks like a different one completely! ❤️❤️👏 I may have picked up couch cushions on bulk pick up day, if the couch looked well taken care of. But broken so I’m not wasting a useable couch. When I get home I could check the foam, if clean and stain free, I may disinfect and leave out in the sun for days. I might also cover them with muslin then the “good” fabric and attach to seat. That might be how I save on foam. Perhaps:)🤷🏼‍♀️ Momma Jami rest and feel better! We worry. The kids won’t starve:)
