I really like the detail that the deli worker's gloves, like their hands, are just featureless monochrome circles. I think that's a nice stylistic touch.
I remember when i first heard this i thought that perhaps the store had ceased this free cookie deal, and Justin would seem a fool. But really, its much worse
"well honey I GUESS THEY DON'T HAVE ANY *FREE COOKIES* NOPE! *NO FREE COOKIES* AT THIS PARTICULAR ESTABLISHMENT, HERE AT *KROGER* THERE ARE ABSOLUTLY *NO* FREE COOKIES!"
@@boredcore3500 Yeah but sadly at my Deli/bakery we can't do free cookies for kids right now bcz of covid but you'd think he could at least be like "Oh yeah we can't do that right now" instead of being like "This is a store" lol
that's the point of the story! he had a brain fart. he saw a counter at a grocery store and thought "cookies" and didn't realize where he'd gone wrong until it was pointed out to him
as someone who works in a bakery that’s right next to the deli department and has been asked many, many times when the fried chicken will be ready, customers are not very observant
I only wish the captions covered what they're saying when the laughter kicks in... I have a friend with a deli job who's deaf, he'd get a huge kick out of this!
Don't worry, this embodies most customer/employees interactions. Customer missing something fundamental about the situation in a way that confuses employee working in entirely different department.
I had completely forgotten about the free cookies at grocery stores! That was the best part of going! ...Now I'm sad because I'm an adult and can't have them anymore. Grocery stores are miserable places now.
The combination of Justin and Griffin's cry-laughing deli-man voices and the absolute deadpan deli-man glare in the animation absolutely killed me. Great work!
When I was a kid, the Giant near me also had free cookies at the bakery. Then my sis and I took the kid-logical next step and sampled snacks on the shelves that were already open... we were cookie monsters
awesome, i havent managed to be this early for a while! i just wanted to say thank you for always posting such charming, entertaining content--i find myself rewatching your videos often and they always make me smile. all the best!
I remember working at game stop and these guys came in asking if we had this promotional poster, and I said yes we do. Then we just sorta... stared at each other for a while, and then they turned around and left the store. I realized about 5 months later they probably wanted to buy one of the posters.
i always got a free cookie from the bakery at fred meyer as a kid and the like 1 or 2 times we went and they didnt have any cookies it was just fucking wrong. deeply, deeply wrong
After effects :) some plugins that you absolutely don’t need to make stuff but I find useful: Buttcapper (this is free) Joysticks ‘n’ Sliders ($40ish) Rubberhose2 ($40ish) RU-vidrs that taught me everything: EC Abrams Ben Marriott Ross Plaskow
You know the worst part of this if they did actually do this and they sorrows they prosbbly are just throwing the cookies out now whitch just SUUUUCKKS a the amount of baked goods company’s throw away whens they are still perfectly edible and delicous is bad
