sumber air harus lebih tinggi dari sawahnya, baru bisa jalan. cara yang lebih gampang, buat aja saluran di bawah tanah agar air mengalir dari sumber ke sawah. ngapain repot2 harus bikin sifon.

What is the purpose of the larger vertical diameter pipe on the discharge side. Is its purpose to create an extra air pocket capacity, when filled to form a stronger vaccum?

It’s to fill the pipe with water to start the process. Once that pipe is full, and the valve opened on the lower end, that water starts to follow gravity and pulls more water from the river to fill the vacuum In the pipe. If you use a hose to do this you don’t need that vertical leg, but will need the hose to be filled with water another way first.

@@juliank. Можно, но придется кормить того, кто будет таскать воду на гору, а также одевать, обувать и вообще платить за это... по-другому физика не позволяет поднимать стоячую воду вверх, и до сих пор это никем не оспорено

This system can not lift water up from a well, but it can lead water over the wall of a canal. Output must be lower than the input. Here the rice field is lower than the river.

That is a problem with a barrel system too, it only takes longer time. If you put the output into a bucker wit water, no air sucks bak. You can alsu lift the output so it forms a U at the output. Here the speed of the water is high so it is not a problem.

Not really. This is a normal siphon. Anytime the water source is HIGHER than the outflow (end of pipe), its gonna want to flow downhill once you prime the pipe with water. In the other videos the water source is LOWER than the field he wants to flood and that requires a pump action. The barrel filled with water flows out and forms a vacuum suction in the barrel when it leaves the barrel. That vacuum is replaced with new incoming water from the water source. Gravity causes the water to flow out of the barrel. Remember that water always flows downhill. This is why the barrel is always elevated.

This is a siphon. A barrel „pump“ is also a siphon. Adding a barrel can make it easier to get a siphon started. You do not need the one way valve in the river. If there are air leaks in the system, a barrel will collect that air for some time, but in the end you must fill the barrel again. But if your pipes are airtight and running, you need no barrel.
