I could not imagine spending 4 rounds in the cage with Anderson Silva, whooping his ass the whole time, and then tapping out. Heart break
@mastertrey4683
@mastertrey4683 Год назад
And then getting choked. You have to tap if you get choked. Its unfortunate for chael but silva outsmarted him you cant deny that. Maybe chael let his guard down all he had to do was sit on silva for 2 minutes and been world champ. But once youre fully cinched into a choke thats it.

But Chael is a loud mouth who deserves that kind of humbling defeat. Just like Conner deserved Khabib.
@andrewhigdon8346
@andrewhigdon8346 Год назад
@@mastertrey4683 that’s the problem though was thinking the way you stated. “All he had to do was sit on Silva” Nope. All he had to do was prevent one of the greatest fighters ever with incredibly well rounded skills from doing what he does best. And that is, get the upper hand just when his opponent thinks they have either an opportunity to attack, or an opportunity to breathe. Do that with Silva one too many times and it will be over in a flash. Silva took more of a beating than I’ve ever seen him take, and by that many times over. But it just goes to show what a champion he is. No matter how tired he might have been, which he never was, or how disoriented he may have become, which never happened, or how desperate he might have gotten, which also never happened, he will either quickly end it, or wait for his opponent to make a few mistakes, and size that opportunity. Bruce Lee said it. “When my opponent expands, I contract, and when they contract, I expand, and when the opportunity comes, I don’t hit, it hits all on its own”. He was watching Sonnen’s face, very, very, carefully, and could read when his guard was down, in his mind is what I mean. Silva just casually, casually, slips that leg over, and locks in the triangle. Done. If there was ever a time when Anderson Silva used every ounce of power he had, it was right there with his legs, crushing Chanel. Incredible. Simply incredible.

mathjoker You are correct, it is the jolt of the head that causes the most brain damage. Punches to the head where the head is help in place by the floor are just bruising the skin and bone. But with that said, the best punches are those from top where bottom is lifting their head up but gets caught on the way, jolting back down and then bouncing back up again after hitting the floor for two jolts on the brain.

I bet it DOES. He promised his father on his death bed that he would be world champion, and he was 2 minutes away from it. @@vladiinsky but you cant take back any round of any career. And he got dominated this whole fight, but managed the upset win. Pretty crazy. I love it at 24:18 when he says, "Are we three-minutes away from having a new champion?", after watching Chael basically dominate the entire fight. Then Rogan jumps in with, "Don't count out Andersson Silva, he's the champion for a reason." -- then see what happened right after that... WOW...!!! GREAT FIGHT, GREAT ENDING...!!!

He was the first fighter in the UFC to dominate Silva. Was Chael's fight to win until he slipped up and got caught in that triangle. Alot of the younger fans weren't around to see Spider when he was in his prime. Nobody could touch him. Definitely one of, if not the most dominant fighter ever until he lost to Weidman.

@davidknell9676 I know, that was from his Pride days, he became a completely different animal right before he made the transition to the UFC. He obliterated an extremely tough, but not very well rounded, Chris Leben in his UFC debut and the rest is history.

@crimsontide1980 Год назад
@davidknell9676 You're right though, he was always a great fighter in Pride but he couldn't quite get to elite status due to being prone to submissions. He greatly improved his ground game and submission defense after the loss to Chonan and the high level of Muay Thai striking was already there.
