Free fish seeds, fish food and other equipments from the Government to support new grow out ponds. 

Today, we are excited to share our journey to Nongpoh, Meghalaya, where we are getting free fish seeds, food, and other equipment from the government to support new grow-out ponds.
Me and Kolshi da started our day by taking his auto van and heading towards Nongpoh. On the way, we stopped for some refreshing red tea and a traditional rice snack called "Tekeli Pitha." After breakfast, we continued our trip and reached the fisheries office, only to find that only fish seeds were available there. For the rest of the items like nets, lime, pH level checker, and buckets, we had to go to another place. So, we moved ahead and collected everything.
After getting all the tools, we returned to the fisheries office and collected 1200 fish seeds of different varieties like Rou, Katla, Bhangan, and other local fish. Finally, we brought them back to our grow-out pond, where they will grow until they are ready to be moved to a bigger pond.
We are really thankful to the government, especially the Meghalaya government, for supporting the villagers in such a great way. This will help many people earn a good living by selling fish from their ponds.
