Yokosuka? Spent 2 boing years there myself in 1995-1997. When I was there you had to be E-4 and had to get permission to own a car but they were super cheap. It cost money to scrap a car in Japan so lots of people just gave them away when they transferred. There was so many cool Japanese cars over there that I wanted.
I always appreciate the way Randy treats animals and others in his videos. You can tell alot about a person from there willingness to be kind and understanding...
I've seen a lot of inspirational videos on youtube, but today I've seen one of the best, Randy's attitude reminds me of the work God does on each of us, we feel so helpless, useless and worthless. Then the almighty just gently works on us, never upset, just lovingly helps us. thanks Randy, can't wait to see the outcome.
@@mh488 can confirm. I've had both my Beretta and Z24 over 20 years. At times a coil would short out, and back then we sometimes had to wait for a replacement. But, they always ran on 5, and I babied em. When I changed the coil, I also did the oil and filter. Those old cars have stuck with me longer than most people I know lol
This is the car that made me fall in love with Corvettes and cars. I was like 11 years old and walked into a toy store. Bought the little blue matchbox one.
as complete as this car is , I only wish that it would've fallen into your hands ...I'll still hope that you get a C-4 Corvette of your dreams ..although a Dk Green w/ tan interior would more than likely be a '93 40th anniversary edition , and those had those LT1 engines with the Opti-spark distributor nightmare.. omggggg! ..*shudders* GOOD LUCK !
@@angeldawnmorningstar I seen a 91 like I want a few years ago, I wanted it so bad, but I didn’t need my insurance to go sky high, I’ll find one eventually
My parents had an ‘84 Vette when I was a kid. The bought it new. Seeing the interior really brings back memories. This generation of Corvette is when the cars got really complicated under the hood and behind the dash. Really expensive to fix, but fun to drive.
New to the channel but you’ve got me hooked. I love the mix of solid mechanical and diagnostic skills with the easy going and accessible narration and presentation. This is the sort of content RU-vid was built on. Keep up the great work and Save That Vette!
As a life long Tech and and co-owner of my wife's 1996 Z34 Monte 3.4LQ, I have a hard time keeping that tempermantle girl running right. And it was never buried in a swamp! So I will say, Well done Randy! Great job with the Vette and the Mustang. Watched the whole process on both. Impressive! Now you can slap $2,000 or best offer on the Vette and you will get it.
Randy, we can all hear the Swamp Thing BEGGING...please, Please, PLEASE, Auto Auction Rebuild me❗️ PLEASE let Weird Beard give me a proper paint job❗️ It was GREAT seeing Austin Carr helping you again❗️ And THANK YOU for bringing us along on these adventures! 😊👍
This is simply incredible that you got this car running.......... simply unbelievable and I sure as hell seen Randy doing the work! The first swamp vette video Not many would have had the Drive and and skill to even get this car going! Respect
Randy (the host) is very nice man! I like when he is laughing no matter what issues he is facing with this car :) Will continue to watch to the vey end - to it’s final transformation!
The most beautiful Corvette, ever! Steve had one in BH90210. Restore it and keep it for fun drives, whenever you feel the need to have a ride&chill evening.. ✌️
I have an '85 silver just like what this car once was. It was my grandfather's and is a super fun car during the summertime. I'm glad to see another one getting some love. Great content!
Most cars between 20 and 30 years old will become just unappreciated junk in most people's eyes, and gets dumped or forgotten... over 30 years, even the most mundane of cars will start to become more or less interesting. And the C4 wasn't at all that mundane, especially if you watch from outside the US.
She's beautiful!! When she was sitting there trying to keep going after you added the fuel injector cleaner, I was heartbroken listening to her. I can't wait until she is finished!!! Thank you for not giving up on her. It would be great to drive her after she's done knowing how far she's come!!!
This was so much satisfaction crammed into 40 minutes. Some may say cars are just things, but i beg to differ. You can almost tell Swampie wants to drive, oh so bad, it wants to drive. She may be limping but with enough time and love, she'll be a loyal ride, for a long time. can't wait to see her restored to full glory and beyond. This may have started out as a passing practical joke, but it will be the "meme of the decade!"
There aren’t many mid 80s vehicles that I think are aesthetically pleasing to look at, but GM has just about all of the ones I do like. The Vette, Fiero, Camaro and Firebird.
i have had my C4 (1993) for a litttle over 21 years....recently i thought about upgrading to a C6. after watching this, i am not going to upgrade. i had some engine work done in 2014. it has not leaked any oil since. bird in one hand is better than two in the bush. please keep the vids coming!!!
Swamp thing is looking so much better! I can't to see the rest of this project. Very exciting and to those who dislike it, go find a car dumped in the water and you try fixing it. Great job so far Randy!
Great job! Randy. Make sure that you hit a nearest scrap yard, around your neighborhood and get some new salvageable bucket seats, some new tires, as well as a new sun roof for replacement. Perhaps later on, you can even clean up all the dash board and the gage clusters, with some Armor All and give it a new paint job, with the original GM factory paint code. Afterwards, you’ll be in business. Thank you for this magnificent presentation. Johnny, Montréal, Canada 🇨🇦
NAh man... it's the timing, lol... never mind the glogged injectors and rusty plugs and distributor contacts and wires or computer connectors, those just need talked too and encouraged to come back
*Great vid and nice score on the vette. You certainly need a foam cannon for your pressure washer, they're under $20 online and dump a load of thick, dirt dissolving soap on your cars. I use any liquid soap in mine, dishwashing liquid or the pressure washing soap you can buy at walmart and it has worked excellent for a year now. Just foam cannon the vehicle and apply a thick layer of soap then wait 10-15 mins til all the dirt starts running off and rinse. Makes a big difference, especially on super dirty vehicles like your vette.*
when i first saw that car i was honestly not very optimistic about it being a runner and i thought it would become a parts car Glad to see that i was proven wrong and it has a potential future ahead
I love the swamp thing thank you for not giving up on her.. she cleaned up really well if you want to sell it i would be interested would be a awesome car to fix up the rest of the way
You are so lucky to have that car. I know to a non C4 enthusiast it’s not worth much but I’ve always wanted one. Maybe after my divorce is final (assuming I survive it) I will get one. I will enjoy watching you save this old girl.
Please save her! I LOVE Corvettes! Bring her back to life. Just to prove to you how serious I am about this, I'm going to subscribe to your channel and give this video and future videos a thumbs up.
Glad to see you aren’t giving up on it. If the car is Swamp Thing, I think it would look good in a moss green & side pipes, maybe with Swamp Thing written in an iridescent yellow on the side just above the rockers.
Hey Randy! It's fun watching you give thse cars a new chance at life.. and Ironically in the last fee days I have had a car given to me by an elderly couple that can't use it.anymore and don't want it to go to scrap yard. Just gotta figure out how to get it home, its about 2-3 hrs from where I live.. thanks for good work Randy.
Thanks Auto Auctions IO and Randy what a great Idea looks like the mechanicals and the body are in reasonable condition. Auto Auction Rebuilds is in full swing on this nearly as much work as the MG.
Randy your cars are not any good until you do your sustained RED-LINE test!!!! I love how always red-line your cars just to see if you can blow an engine.. You are genius!!!
I can definitely relate to what you’re doing with the Vette. Just recently completed a 95 mustang GT convertible that was in the same shape as your Vette. Don’t give up on her. She deserves to be brought back to life.
Nick is building an impressive fleet. The manual Mustang that he absolutely slaved over and the automatic Corvette. Cannot wait to see the next. Too bad Macburnie was forced out of business, Nick would look good in a Miami Vice Ferrari Daytona.
@@elvisstopper4208 Just thought you and Trent Dawg would like to know that the first thing this lazy tight wad as you call him did when he got this car was pull the pump and sending unit out and clean out the inside of the tank ! Not too bad of an accomplishment for a lazy ass tight wad is it?
You need to keep it , that is the one car you could get content as you give it some love get it running clean up interior and take down to Fun Factory and do burn outs when all is said and done ! It would be epic calling it the Swamp beast! Good luck w it !
When the car makes it back into the garage still missing on a few cylinders, it reminds of Stephen Kings film Christine. Hope you bring this car back to life.
Hmmm, do you suppose clogged injectors could cause a lean condition after seeing what was in the tank? Maybe handle that before messing with timing that's been locked down for years
@@THRASHMETALFUNRIFFS I would normally go there first, so I totally agree if not for the fact that they already unlocked and started twisting the cap. Plus if you listen well it's pretty consistent in the low revs but smooths out. If it was simply injectors, it would keep pinging. Most likely it's both in all seriousness
The swamp vette lives! I'm certain that if you brought back the crustiest vette in existence you are capable of making anything run. Excellent content as always randy! I'm looking forward to more Corvette and mustang content! I almost forgot to mention the ambassador and the cougar. So much excitement on the way. I love Roxy, she's so sweet!
