I remember seeing that one ad for Starlight Adventure that was going around on tumblr, but the actual movie was so intent of cashing in on Star Wars that it missed all the possible paths it could have followed? I couldn’t keep watching it past a certain point, but some of the cosmology introduced in the intro is very Fallen London, and the thing with the enemy being basically entropy is cool. I‘m pretty sure that I remember Barbie being ~in tune with the song of the stars~, or whatever, as the girly bootleg Force, so maybe there’s be songs and she’d somehow convince the stars to stop dying, or raise them from the dead, or form new ones, or convince THE UNIVERSE ITSELF to cut it out with the whole “dying” stuff? (Also, the scene at the gala or whatever it was, where all the characters on the team were meeting eachother? It was kind of uncomfortable, and all the protagonists were being dicks to characters that weren’t on the team, but their chemistry was *excellent*, and I ship it. This is a polycule of terrible people, they’re assholes who shouldn’t be the protagonists of a kids’ film, but they’re assholes in love)

You’re actually kinda right. I don’t remember if they’re lesbians, the movie doesn’t say anything about it. But they both give me hella lgbtq+ vibes. But the movie is about them changing life’s. (If that makes sense in any way)

They aren't. both of them get married to men at the end of the movie and have arcs about their relationships. in fact the two lead girls barely talk to each other in the movie. However if you want a gay barbie movie I recommend barbie and the diamond castle or even the fairytopia series. princess and the popstar is also kinda gay but its kinda the worst barbie movie imo. In the case of diamond castle I wouldn't be shocked if the leads being gay is on purpose. it probably isn't but theres a whole scene where the 2 female best friends (who btw live in a cottage together selling flowers for a living) get taken away from the two dudes on a magical rainbow bridge.

@@Moonlitwatersofaqua I usually don't like to start political debates over simple movies, but why does every non-backstabbing two-female relationship have to be assumed to be gay? It kinda implies that you can't have a deep relationship with someone without wanting their body or something carnal that's of direct self-interest. Besides that, it lowers the bar for LGBT rep, because now writers don't have to be explicit about two characters being gay and they don't have to play their part in normalising gay PDA, calling each other girl/boyfriends/wives/husbands, etc. They can just get away with a bare-bones, barely-there relationship and have their metaphorical dicks sucked for it.
