Oh my this is so amazing! Thanks for this video. I'll be in Rome in a few weeks and this helps me so much. So excited to go. You two are a blessing to all budget travelers.
I won't be planning any international travel just yet - but... It has been SO nice to saunter about in Rome with you, albeit only virtually. Arm-chair travelling is good on a Saturday morning. (And your list include many of the places I would have suggested as well. Though my top tip for Rome will always be: If you walk past a church door that isn't locked, go inside! Not for religious reasons, but simply because there are so many surprising and wonderful spaces hidden behind sometimes slightly less-impressive facades. You never know what you might miss... But of course do so respectfully; dress appropriately and keep your voice down.)
Loved your video of free things to visit in Rome. Sounds like there are lots to see and to enjoy in Rome, not a big fan of spending lots of money visiting a city unless i really would have to. Thank you so much for all the great tips! Very helpful!!
Thank you so much - we were too late to book tickets for the major sites but we found your guide and saw almost all of these instead - mostly without the huge crowds!! Julie and David (UK)
Guys, thank you for this great video, we are visiting Rome next week and this has been so informative for us, scribbled down all your suggestions as they are not only free but so very interesting, we love to walk so this is great for us, yes we have booked a few tours already, but really looking forward to our free tour of Rome:) Thanks again, great job.
I have been to Rome many times. My favorite thing is to just meander around. So much to see for free. I would also include the Are Pacis and the Tomb of Augustus. Outside of Castel Sant'Angelo and Via Borgo. I know it is not free, but I really love Ostia Antica where you can spend a whole day for a truly nominal fee. This was an exceptional video. Good job. Maps were extremely helpful.
Great video, I'll be travelling to Rome next March for the first time soo just getting RU-vid-ready 🙂 Gonna see your other videos too! Just a little update - as far as I know, Pantheon is not free anymore... 😢
Thanks for your informative videos guys! I love your positive vibe and sensible calm advice! 😊 We’re looking forward to visiting this summer and your videos are v helpful to make the most of our 2 days in Rome. I was hoping to get a time stamp / time of day you were at each attraction, as a guide. I saw from your other video of 1 day in Rome to get an early start, but there are not much crowd’s - wondering if is this was filmed earlier in the morning (like before 8am?). Thanks again! 👏🏼🥰
Thank you 🙏🏻 an early start is a very good idea, but keep in mind that most attractions don’t open until 9 ish. The best idea is to book your ticket in advance if you want to go to a specific museum or landmark that requires tickets.
What about the Porta Portesi weekend flea market and the Jewish Quarter near Trastevere. We love the fresh bread at the Jewish bakery. Also the hills above have wonderful views along with impressive statues and fountains.
Fantastic video guys. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of Rome with us. I’m curious are all those attractions close to each other? Could you go on foot to visit most of them? I want to visit Rome this summer and want to to take my daughter and her mother with me but my daughters mother is desperate to NOT go to Rome if you can believe that. Her reasons for not wanting to go is she thinks Rome is all about religion and she’s not religious and also how expensive it is. I tried to explain theres so much more to Rome than religion and you don’t need to be religous to appreciate the history, art and beauty of some of the religious places and that I myself am not religious and that Romes actually cheaper than Edinburgh where we visit regularly. She just isn’t buying it. Any ideas of how I can change her mind? Again thanks for the Video guys.
Thank you so much for your comment. Yes all the attractions in the video are walking distance. Actually you can walk pretty much everywhere in downtown Rome. Rome is so much more than religion, actually we think that religion is a very small part of the attractions in Rome. There is so much history and art all over the city. We posted a couple more videos about Rome you can those to her and she will see that there is A LOT more to see in Rome 😃
@@TravelAddictsLife Thank you guys so much! Seriously it’s really appreciated. I’ll show her this video and comment and will show her the other videos. Thanks again guy’s! 👍
Actually, it was used as a horse racing track for some time! www.romehints.com/en/the-legends-of-the-most-beloved-square-by-the-romans-piazza-navona-masterpiece-of-art-and-culture/
@@TravelAddictsLife Actually, no! The horse racing that article is referring to is actually chariot racing. Exactly the type of chariot racing that occurred at Circus Maximus. Piazza Navona was a hippodrome used for chariot racing. Tony is also half correct, it was also used as an athletic’s arena!
love your video? My husband and I are coming to Rome on September 19th. My questions: 1. is it allowed now to sit on the Spanish steps? 2. I cannot decide if to buy tickets for the vatican museum 🤔 we usually do not like museums. It would be nice to see the vatican museums but I think we would last 1hr max. what do you suggest? is it still very crowded the week of Sep 20th? Thanks!
Hello Tova, thank you for your comment. Last time we were in Rome 2 months ago was still not possible to sit on the Spanish steps. Regarding the Vatican Museum, buying the tickets for the museum is the only way to see the Sistine Chapel. If you want to see that you’ll have to go through the museum.
Love your video, seing so many other creators for travels as I used them to create my itineraries. (26 countries on my pocket so far) So let me tell you what your doing better than others.. Showing a map ++ from point A to B, best time to visit and requirements (i.e. shorts, face cover). Very descriptive but to the point info on each site, not a mix of food with a attractions.... GREAT JOB!!!
I loooove you videos. Amazing information. I’ll be in Roma in December but just for a long layover, so to see important monuments for free is great. I can’t believe I will see the Moses for free!!
@@TravelAddictsLife Actually thanks to this video I managed to view 3 places, 1. The Keyhole, sadly my phone couldn't capture a better view like yours but just up ahead at the park there's a panoramic view of the San Pietro. 2. I visited the Moses, wow! And 3. I went to Circo Massimus. So yeeeeh! Good job 👍
LOVE the map/walking path from one thing to the next. SO helpful. Love your work guys, it will certainly help me when I finally get to Rome later this year!
Hi. Thanks so much for this video. Very informative. Additional questions...How long did it take u to visit these places? Is it possible to map a time line in mins, hrs or days from one place to the other. Slim
Such an informative video. How did you guys manage to shoot so many locations in early morning? I’m assuming it’s early morning because all the sights you’ve shown aren’t packed with tourists. 👍🏽
Your video was one of the best videos i could find! Thank you so much! You gave us a lot of information with excellent guidance and views from everything you show to us! :* :* :*
Recent subscriber and great video. What we would like to know, when you were going to all of these various sites, did you take the Bus? We are planning to go there this coming March and we are wondering if its worth getting the ROMA Pass 48 hours or the Pass 48 hours without the museum. Thank you for any advise that you can provide.
Hello there, thank you for subscribing. We did not take the bus we walked pretty much everywhere. Rome city centre is very easy to walk. We, have never used the Pass.
Good morning from NYC, I enjoy your videos very much. I am trying to plan a trip to Rome at the end of August or September. Is it true that I can travel from Rome to Venice, Naples and Amalfi with the Rome transit system or do I need to rent a vehicle
Rumor has it that entering Pantheon in Rome is no longer free and it is €5 admission now? 😳 Please confirm? If it is true- what was the reason behibd this decision? 🤔
Michelangelo did not design the costumes, they were designed in 1914 by Jules Repond based on The Mass of Bolsena painting by Raphael, and the Piazza Navona was a sporitng stadium not a horse racing track. FYI
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Hi guys, love your videos. Just watched Free things to do in Rome as we will be visiting from Australia in March 2024. Just wondering what time of year you did this video as crowds don't seem too horrible?! 😊
@@TravelAddictsLife thanks so much for quick reply. I guess it'll be what it will be and we'll make the most of the three days we have. Just watching another video now...Best Restaurants 😊
Thank you for all these amazing tips! We are planning a trip to Rome, and this was really helpful, I was wondering though; I am a professional photographer, so I have a Sony A7RII camera, are there any rules to take photographs? For example, you're not allowed to bring a tripod at the Vatican (or can't I even bring a camera)? Do you know about the rules for other locations? Thanks a lot :D
Excellent video, and I can't say which I like the most, but I hope to visit many of these on my upcoming trip to Rome (I have already visited a number of them on a previous trip.)
Thank you for this! I will be visiting Italy for the first time in 2 weeks and will have just a few hours in Rome on my way south. This helped me pick some spots to visit quickly before I continue my journey!
Thanks so much for sharing this amazing video, I been there many times long time ago, I’m now I’m planning a trip with my daughter and your video help me a lot because refresh my memory., guys you’re really are awesome., blessings
Andiamo a Roma in una settimana. Voglio assolutamente vedere la Basilica di San Pietro in vincoli e Moses. Ho prima veduto la maggiorparte di vostre proposte.
