Brilliant! Most people these days would probably have sought the parts out on eBay paid way too much because of the age of the bike and then waited 6 weeks for them to arrive! Recycling at it's best!
If ya get a chance Brock, check out Shawn Smoak, he's a Master Mechanic for Pro Caliber Motorsports in Washington. He knows MBW, Spyder and Harley, makes a few how-to videos, but mainly post his rides in and around the Vancover area. His site is Smoaks Vlog.
@@jenniesgarage Nobody can be 'too kind' to you two. If ever you find yourselves on Australian soil I have a room for both of yoy, a shed full of 'projects' and my wife will surely send you off with a couple extra pounds of nutritional storage.
I've been married to my husband for 28 years. I've never tried to change the fact that he's a motorhead. My house and yard and garage is mainly guy stuff. His current love is snowmobile asphalt racing. We talk about it together and I go to the races with him. He cares enough to do my stuff. I try to make an effort for him.
This was one of the most advanced, (timing chain), “will it run” videos I’ve seen and I’ve watched a lot of mustie1 and other “run” channels! Thanks. Fun and entertaining. Great job.
Mustie1 has the benefit of lots of tools and connections for parts, hes also willing to put money into stuff to make it work. Jennies Garage, he usually barely has the right tool on hand and doesnt like putting a lot/any amount of money into projects. Yet he still gets them to work. As for entertainment value I'd say its about even. This channel brings a whole lot of comedy and knowledge. Mustie has a lot of great stories and knowledge.
You guys are the only ones that my wife and I watch your videos through our roku player in our livingroom. We both tremendously enjoy yalls spirit and banter. Like I've always said, y'alls channel is quality over quantity. Greetings from Oklahoma.
Not sure how I missed this video until 2020, but man. Once again I'm reminded how much I love this channel. You guys' on screen chemistry is so entertaining, even though you don't come off as performers or RU-vid personalities (and I mean that in a good way). And God Jake is such a wizard with these small engines. Every video feels like I'm more amazed with his knowledge and learn 5 new things. Reminds me of fooling with these machines as a kid with my old man. I think you could even give him a run for his money
Flipping house's. Some they rent out some they sell. Live in them long enough to fix up on the cheap move on to another house. Very smart saves loads of money on labor and driving back and forth... but at the same time sucks moving that much.
Love the way you analyse and solve a problem. Very clever and logical. I have smaller 3 wheeler with what I think is an ignition problem. I'm heading out to the garage loaded with ideas!
Really enjoyed your video, I needed something relaxing and light hearted right now. I’m a fan of anything with an engine that you can ride. Thanks for sharing.
Restored ones tend to sit around for a few years, In my area I have seen the same few fully restored ones trying to sell for a couple of grand. Where a fixed up one runs and sells for 500 or less, most times all one needs to do is clean them up, replace the handlebar controls ( 15) , add new tires ( 150 ), brakes ( 10 to 300 * really depends on if you need to replace a lot, Most times just pads, handles and a few things. , Change fluid, new carb ( 30 ), Lights (20) top end repair ( 15 to 300 * 300 is everything, Most times just a gasket set is all you need, Dry rot from sitting a lot of years. Pretty much every one that I have ever picked up for free or for 100 or less has really only needed carb cleaned or replaced. They all ran for years with out many issues. If I would do it today rather than years ago, I could have bought new parts and fixed them up nicer and resold them for a huge profit. Yet the market is trashed today because you can go out and buy a fairly nice tao tao quad for 700 bucks and up, may not be a 250 yet they run pretty good.
I just found your RU-vid channel and I ended up binge watching 10 episodes. I have to say I absolutely LOVE your channel. You both do a great job making these videos fun and informative. Keep up the GREAT work. You have a new subscriber in me. Look forward to catching up on older videos and new the next new ones to come!
If nothing else minor fixing like that ridiculous smoking should be fixed if its just minor thing like crap between piston rings. If the 3 wheeler design is dangerous and crap, the engine might be well suited for something else. Essentially just make new 2 wheel front end, or put the engine into offroad cart. I would love to get that engine for such project for cheap, too bad shipping would be hella expensive :/
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that this upload literally made my day. Keep your family and yourself first but always remember how much we all appreciate your uploads.
I have over 11 trikes now in my collection, Hondas never fail! Amazing video it made my night watching it, no swear words at the trike, no hacking, just a good ol manual and fixing! And it started!! 3rd pull!! Amazing video. Subscribed !!
There are now so many repair & restoration channels on RU-vid, but somehow this channel manages to be in a category of one. Digging light switches out of the garbage on a hunch that they contain an appropriately-sized spring to fix a small engine is peak content and I cannot get enough of it.
I've wrenched on hundreds of these style Honda motors. 15 minutes in and I can immediately tell the timing chain is off a tooth. Edit: So it was off 2 or 3 teeth. I'm amazed the piston didn't smash a valve.
Hey, quick question for ya. What would cause my 200s to run good at full throttle. Then at idle, it will run for a while then quit all of a sudden. I have to give it throttle to get it going again. But, it starts first pull when the engine is cold. What's my issue here?
I don't know how this ended up on my feed, but I'm sure glad it did. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of you troubleshooting and eventually starting it! Great job!
man i have no idea how this channel came across my feed but i'm sure glad it did. you guys are great! funny, informative, educational. you have it all!
I learn so much from these videos everytime i watch them. I started my own little gig by working on bikes. All the unusual diagnostics or figuring out what may be wrong with a bike come from here. Like someone brought in a ltz400 and it was making a "breathing noise" from the airbox just like this one and it was an intake valve that was way tight.
And with that last line I subbed, look forward to checking out more vids. Love the family working together, the comedy and the sharing of experienced knowledge!
I am a HUGE Honda 3 wheeler guy. I have 27 of them...I Thoroughly enjoyed this video and watching you bring that old bird back to life! I subscribed too, thanks for a great video. You and your wife make a great team.
I grew up on three wheelers. First a 1983 ATC110 and later a 1984 ATC250R. Wish I still had that 250R! Great video - it brought back a lot of memories.
Pretty sure, the tap dancing instructor, kept saying it to lisa Simpson, when she was trying to learn how to tap dance. When she was learning how to tap her shoes, that's where I heard it from. Over 10 years ago.
I love you guys, step by step good teaching with a mixture of clean humor. And always happy Camera Girl. I learn quicker from your style of teaching, with a chuckle here and there. 100 thumbs up you two, oh and your son also.
I appreciate the time and effort you take out of your day/days to show us your hobbies and passion . In the little time I’ve watched I’ve learned more than I could have imagined, thanks for the vids buddy
Jennie, I started watching your videos yesterday and blew through them all so fast. I guarantee you if you keep uploading often you will hit a million subscribers. You taught me a ton through your videos that I can guarantee I will put to good use and you have a great personality on camera. I hope to see more uploads soon and have a very merry Christmas!
That's a cool old atv you guys got there, glad to c someone bringing it back to life and enjoying it, I have a 1984 Yamaha yfm200n atv, it burns oil just like yours, but mine has started up every single time, even when it's 5 degrees outside, they don't make them like they use too, enjoy it. , and be safe
Feel like RU-vid finally recommended me something worth to watch, good job !! You both sound like a happy couple, made me feel like when I'm outside puting something together and my wife brings me a lemonade ahhh !! 🤝👏👏👏
after watching all of youre fixing motorcycle videos and stuff like 2-3 times ive learned alot about fixing bikes and i know how to fix alot of things now on bikes. great content and entertaining
@@tomhysmith835 Right? I have one in an barn now that won't start because the cam chain somehow twisted/kinked because it wont turn over at all. I nearly pulled my shoulder out of socket thinking it was the starter when in fact...it wasn't the starter, and I tried to pull-start. Lol
I love this guy and his wife , he's a good mechanic and goes through things in a logical manner , I used to do the same when I was younger due to lack of cash , it's a great skill to have...... keep up the great work guys I really enjoy your channel
30:34 “Burns a little oil... burns a little oil...” Smokescreen engaged! 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Honestly this is a fantastic intro to internal combustion engines. Check fuel, spark, air. Then go deeper. Keep up the great work!!
The second I heard that noise I knew the cam chain was too loose. I automatically assumed it jumped time as well. I also assumed that’s why it was parked...lol. I love this channel...this is goals right here...husband and wife working on project bikes together.
This brought back so many memories . I had the exact same 3 wheeler as a kid and had to start it the same way, We never fixed the recoil. Ha And oddly enough... a lawyer was involved at the end of its terror. Keep up the great work, you two are an absolute joy!
