Well done, informative video. Views best at 1.25 speed, IMO. One thing should be mentioned: It's good practice to shake or tap your units with a rubber mallet every few months to be sure the powder doesn't settle or pack down. I especially appreciate NO annoying background music!

Helpful video for someone like myself who is new to the industry. I am in training to be a sales rep for commercial grade kitchen fire suppression systems as well as for any other type of business. As you all know it’s the law to have property marked and lit exit signs, a commercial grade fire extinguisher as well as routine inspections done by your towns fire marshal.

Somewhere in the presentation add the procedure to contact the fire department and know what phone number is correct when using an internal phone system, also at the same time start a safe evacuation of facility.

Um, in regards to ( some) metal fires a water fire extinguisher should NOT be used, as some things like sodium ( i think) react...explosively to water. When in doubt don't use water
@chestersnap
@chestersnap 3 года назад
What I learned from this video: portable fire extinguishers can only be used on incipient-stage fires which are fires that you can use portable fire extinguishers on Edit: I did actually find this informative but I couldn't not comment on the recursive definition

This video would be more beneficial if OSHA did their research and not used extinguishers for their pictorials of extinguishers that are actually manufactured in the U.S. The water, foam, & CO2 are all from outside this country. Well done OSHA.

What? As a firefighter I can assure you that water and CO2 fire extinguishers are very common. The foam extinguisher, while less common, are still used.

"Nor should you use water to put out an electrical fire for obvious reasons" Excuse me what? And you expect businesses to pay for your "expert training" You can't just assume something is common knowledge because you know it. You explain why not to use water on say oil and that's maybe just a little bit less "common knowledge than water and electricity. What gets me is water on oil could be threatening but most likely not nearly as fatal as water on an electrical fire; that's a far more life-threatening situation and you gloss over it... lol ok... You have no idea how to do basic training m8....
@oshatraining
@oshatraining 10 месяцев назад
A) You didn't pay for it. B) Nothing more is needed to know;, even if it is not obvious to a person, and C) You are just a troll
@EndOfLineTech
@EndOfLineTech 10 месяцев назад
@@oshatraining Fun fact, not everyone who goes against you is a troll... You should have a thing called professional responsibility. I'm going to guess you provide free safety content because you realize it's not right to charge $8,000 for one training video and/or think safety should be more accessible than that. You know your content is going to be used by smaller companies and larger cheap companies. Notice I didn't complain about the production quality as that's understandable, but free or not you have a moral obligation to provide accurate & informative information in a proper way. You know your videos will be used for education... Going "hey just don't do this, it's bad" in a 'certified' OSHA course is ethically wrong, especially with a likely deadly outcome on the table. if I'm a troll for pointing that out so be it. Free content does not mean free of standards.
@oshatraining

@@EndOfLineTech Again, this ios a FREE informational video. NOT an $8k video. You are apparently very disillusion. And frankly, I really do not care what a hack like you think.
