Thank you very much. I am a new subscriber. I travel alone in my 24ft Motorhome with my two cats. I am ready for the road 🛣️. I have had my traveling home since 2019 and ready to do what you both are doing 🪽🪽 freedom 🕊️
I must warn you that some tractor supply lock their parking lot at night. I know the one in Yukon Oklahoma does. When I drove truck this is a common occurrence what I did deliveries too early. I know there is a few in Kansas and Texas that do also. 6:36
I was just told at banks if there parking is large enough, I don’t have experience but someone may shine in. In Canada there Home Hardware stores and Canadian Tire.
Love this info. Cracker Barrel is my favorite. I get dinner when I arrive and usually breakfast before I leave. Win-win! I refill my propane at most Tractor Supply, so that's good to know.
I have found most Harvest Hosts require that you book 1 day in advance and when I am traveling I dont know when I will stop so I dont use my membership much
We've been members of Harvest Hosts for 10+ years, so are grandfathered in at a very low annual rate. We've stayed at over 100 hosts over the years. I don't mind spending some money at an independently owned business and getting something for it (meal, vegetables, wine & beer). We have also had some incredible experiences - helped harvest grapes, private tour of a vineyard, hung out with the owner/winemaker after hours tasting wine. Some of them have been in incredible settings with gorgeous views! Beats a parking lot for me any day! But we are all different thankfully. We have a GD Imagine 17MKE - love our little home on wheels!
We have zero issues with Harvest Hosts - sometimes though, a quick jaunt off the highway to catch some zzz’s and it doesn’t cost anything and no reservations needed - that is what this is about
Don’t you eat breakfast or dinner at Cracker Barrel? That’s not any different than staying at a Harvest Host like a brewery and having dinner or a few beers 🍺. We like Bass Pro, Cabelas and Costco. We pull a 40ft 5th wheel and have a hard time getting into Cracker Barrels.
Not necessarily. We do try to make a small purchase but their food does not fit into our diet. Unlike Harvest Host - there is no annual fee or requirement to stay at any of these places. For your size rig - check our Cracker Barrel’s along interstates, they usually can accommodate you as they are hot spots for busses. Thank you for taking the time to comment, really appreciated 😀
We love staying at Cracker Barrel and usually get either dinner that night or breakfast the next day or sometimes both. We have also found Lowe’s parking lots that are RV and truck friendly and if they allow you to stay they usually have a blue light and 24 hour monitoring.
Good suggestions 👍🏼. Hospitals may be a little noisy. Some people like the siren, I have long outgrown that thing 😂. We’ve stayed at Truck stops, Cracker Barrel, Harvest Host and Boondockers welcome. I plan on hitting the local Firehouse too when we retire in a few years. I’ll be sporting my IAFF tags on my Rv 😊
Since I'm apparently boojie😉😀, I have always stayed at an rv park on our between assignment stays. With that being said, I really liked your suggestions on overnight stays. Churches and hospitals are great suggestions. Grant it, I might burst into flames at one of those places.... but still a great overnight spot.😂😂
