What the hell? It's absolutely insane how much Rare hates Theb. If they payed attention to fixing their dumb game half even half as much as they do Theb, it wouldn't be such a buggy mess
Ive been muted on the sot discord for a week because I was talking about theb in the tavern. Idk when I'll be unmuted. Dudes not getting unbanned. Rares gone full blown 1984 against him.
Looking at it now with additional info like that is kinda making me think the same, I also was told they black listed his name off ship names too so its like a whole forbidden word now to sot devs lmao
@fortuneteller8548 see, so many take his word at face value when we all know we all have biases towards ourselves. People like to claim Theb only streamsniped one time against one person despite theb admitting streamsniping in a way that says he's done it many times to "hear the other persons cries". If I had a game and some streamer was blatantly cheating, showing how to cheat, and then ban evaded every chance he got while still streaming..... they'd get Thanos snapped in front of the whole world. That's exactly what happened. Also, theb was 15 in 2020..... it's only been 4 years. Theb isn't some changed matured man when he can't even take responsibility for his actions and now he wants SOT players to risk a ban to save him. Freethebnever
Yo its actually so cool that theb talked with moist critical like I been watching bro for so long and to see that he's gunna link ups with a big RU-vidr to get his RU-vid back is 🔥
It’s pretty irritating to hear the original reason theb was perma banned because i feel like I would do the same shit at 14 to 16 not thinking about it and to never be able to play a game ever again for that would rightfully make me pretty pissed and ban evade
i believe that when it comes to the emporium microsoft has pushed rare into pushing out more and more sets and items for it to raise profits, just like they do with most of their live service games under their publishing. does this excuse rare’s inability to patch bugs and isses thats been plaguing the game since release? absolutely not. and the sheer injustice they’ve shown theb is inexcusable, and as theb has said before, i really believe theres a dev at rare that has some kind of vendetta against theb.
I've talked to a certain Rare CSM multiple times in banned players streams multiple times. Yes they watch the streams and wait for names to pop up to ban. In thebs case he was playing with someone who isn't banned and I guess would check to see who is in the crew. theb would go multiple days and I heard sometimes weeks without getting banned while not streaming.
I don't see why we can't have cheaters and theb deplatformed together. Why make amends with a cheater at all? I personally don't see the elimination of the guy's channel as a healthy decision, don't get me wrong, I am not 100% on Rare's side. ...but my god, stop martyring someone who was and still is at fault for his actions just because there are worse people there beside him.
1:07 This is incorrect. The context he was banned for was completely legitimate. The three reasons were advertising cheat, stream sniping, and toxic behavior. The details behind them that he tries to shrug off are actually pretty serious and completely confirming on his ban being deserved. 1) They didn't say he was banned for advertising SoT cheats, they just said cheats meaning in general and that is correct. His bio link may have been a fake SoT link but that link took people to a very real website for a minecraft cheat client. If doesn't matter if it was a joke to Theb, having the link at all in your bio is a form of advertisement. 2) He stream sniped an arena tournament. Not some regular arena match, an organized tournament of pros. The prize was real $$$.. His excuse is that he didn't know how serious stream sniping was at the time but anyone with a brain knows that's cheating and regardless if he knew or not, a serious offence. (convenient that the details of the stream sniping are edited out of the version that crud re-uploaded but it's in the original version that used to be on his channel for a long time.) 3) Toxic Behavior. Anyone who has seen his older content knows he trash talks Rare a lot, he has used a lot of rude language and thrown around toxic slurs against other players, and he used to almost always bucket enemy ships for long periods of time to prevent them from sinking and farm more TDM / hot-mic content off them. This is Rare's definition of spawn camping whether you like it or not. He said it himself that he deleted some of his content and started trying to behave to "clean up my image" as he said.. But that doesn't undo what has already been done and the time since then doesn't excuse it. Even if they only focus on 1 of the 3 reasons, it's completely justified and up do rare how severely they want to punish the behavior. If I was a developer and a content creator was ban evading and stuff for years, I'd want to keep him banned out of principle to make an example out of it. He's 1 of many content creators. definitely not a shot in the foot. If anything, an annoying hangnail they ripped off. Literally anyone can record and stream gameplay now it's nothing special. His content definitely isn't something that takes much editing effort, we just watch him sink some people while trying to mildly annoy them. You say they ban his accounts as opposed to others but those people get banned too as long as someone reports them too. If someone takes the time to report the account properly, a real person eventually reviews the evidence and takes action. The amount of accounts I've banned through reporting them to rare is a sizeable amount. You comment like he was a big deal to the community but literally other than his wabungus videos going viral, he was very unknown to most players until recently. I've been playing since the alpha tests and in my 3000+ hours of the game and he has never even been brought up or recommended to me until now. People say it's a sad waste of time for Rare to keep hunting his new accounts but in reality it's sad that theb is obsessed enough with SoT that he would be salty and ban evade for a half a decade instead of moving on to another game and stop wasting the devs time. He's not ALWAYS fighting other hackers. Most of the people are just normal players. They dedicate time to seeking him out because they know he's there. It's an easy target to keep checking up on. A DMCA after 5 years of trying to evade a ban and stream on an account that only streamed SoT and twitch drop farmed sounds about right to me. If you aren't supposed to be able to play the game anymore anyways, there should be no reason for you to have access to streaming in the SoT category. It's becoming clear to me lately that the people that are supported theb in this are either ignorant to all the details, or are biased because they just don't want to side with Rare. I enjoy his content because I'm a pvp heavy player but I've seen enough of his content to know P.S - Anyone who thinks the emporium cosmetics are cooler than what you can get in-game does not understand how cosmetics work in this game. You don't see your pirate 99% of the time unless you emote or go into customization chests so for most, it's what the outfit represents. Outside of trying to win style of thieves contests, you should be wearing cosmetics that display your achievements. If you're new and have none, go earn some instead of whining about ancient coin prices. This isn't fortnite.. pay-to-skin is cringed upon in SoT. You don't HAVE to buy any of it... it's all tacky anyways. Use your 250 free coins every season to get emotes. They have decent sales on different emotes throughout the year. If you enjoy SoT enough that you care about it this much, why would you be against supporting a company you apparently hate for wanting money but keep playing their game, not wanting to accept that they have to support their live service somehow for you to be able to keep enjoying it. They don't make us pay for dlc, they don't make us pay a subscription to play the game past purchase, the game is like $40 LESS than many other big games, regularly goes on a 50% sale, and has no pay to win but yea after a few years of playing you yourself are too greedy to think you might want to spend $10 to get 1000 coins. That's 10 emotes if you get them on sale for 99 coins each at the right time of the year. OR don't but any.. someone else will, that's the beauty of it being no pressure. I genuinely enjoy theb and cruds content personally but I know a lot about this situation and I have to agree with Rare on this.
Theb is my favorite sot creator. I hate that they constantly go after theb and not actual streamers. I really hope this gets reversed. Free my boy #freetheb
well theb use to work for rare but punch one the of the devs wife in the face and then later the dev died then you got glitterbeard.... and theb uses an voice changer by the way...
I think theb's perma-ban is more than just the fact that he's continually evading his ban to stream & make content. It is more about that Rare is looking at the content he is producing, and while he may claim he's matured since those stupid days as a 15 year old, his content hasn't really. Many of his videos involve griefing behavior on other players and provoking reactions out of them "for content". That isn't the type of gameplay Rare promotes, so doing any of that crap while evading a ban will make them that much more aggressive to enforcing the ban. If he had any chance of arguing that he could bring something positive to the SoT community to overturn the ban while evading the ban, he essentially blew it by releasing content that is breaking terms of service or provoking others to break terms of service. You can be a good pirate, sinking other ships, frustrating players that gamble on a stack or picking a fight they regret, and beat them back repeatedly if they keep coming back, even laugh if they lose their temper in the process, and release the whole episode out as content.. Where Rare likely drew the like was with his provocation given the fact he shouldn't be playing in the first place. If you have a cheater putting out regular content demonstrating and promoting their cheats then Rare would come down on them just as hard. But they tend to stay pretty quiet and out of the spotlight. theb isn't targeted for cheating or continuing to advertise cheats (for a different game), but he is throwing a spotlight on himself promoting play that arguably still breaks Rare's ToS. theb isn't apologizing to Rare and asking for their permission to participate in the community again, he's flipping them the bird and bragging how he'll continue to do it despite them. As far as I'm concerned, everyone should just grab the popcorn and watch it play out. :)
I understand that but a rule like that is a big gray area and alot of other creators have def unintentionally or purposely done that for the sake of content, there is also this thing that I have been hearing more of certain partnered creators doing bad shit and having rare cover it up so it would make rare look worse lol
@@JustVenom Yeah, it is a subjective topic for sure about what other content producers may get away with... However, if you're already in the dog house with Rare then you need to be that much more careful/considerate with what you do. Like getting caught speeding and arguing they other driver ahead of you didn't get pulled over, especially if you've already got a stack of demerits on your license and facing suspension or driving on a suspended license.
true but the problem with that is having that same police department be dirty and letting certain people slide with it and knowing that would certainly seem unfair ya know.
Pvp in a pvp game isnt "griefing" neither is bucketing peoples ships to spawn camp them, the scuttle button exists for a fucking reason, quit being a little bitch and USE IT.
Bro watch the video, the should ban the cheaters first.... Why is he ban evading? He got banned 4 years ago for "stream sniping" and he even apologized for that... Watch Crudmasters video about it for more...
@@JustVenom I see doctors, almost as much as I see the 0.03 percent of the community that support Theb. Yet not as often as I see your mamma, she fine,,!
Theb shouldn’t have been perma banned at 15. However, his actions since have justified the ban. Theb isn’t the only person making content. They don’t need to cater to one of many.
Hey, there are a lot of people that spend their entire workday everyday putting everything they can into a game they love over at Rare. These are two completely separate sides of the company. It’s not fair to blame the devs who are busting their ass for the shortcomings of the moderation side OR the marketing side, I know Rare is very greedy and they push the microtransactions onto us, but don’t blame the people that trained their entire life to be good enough at art or coding or game development to work on their dream game. Blame their higher ups, that decide where the money goes. And as for content, I agree with the tall tale sentiment that it’s not replayable and very niche and they should probably stop them all together considering how much time and money they take (they’re really well made which almost makes it more sad for the sandbox players that want cool stuff too) the last few updates have been absolutely crazy and have been adding a lot of content as opposed to the dry few years we’ve had. I’m all for free theb, I think what’s going on there is horrific but let’s not randomly shit on the game devs who have finally started to pick up the content creation
@@Ravepi314 kinda just sounds like you don’t like the game. Maybe you should move on. The last several updates have had loads more content that is not only impactful but actually requires a lot of hard work by the devs, loads of new models, new events, new custom animations, which is exactly what we’ve been asking for.
@@Ravepi314 I literally saw you flaming someone else saying that they probably complain the game doesn’t have enough content, are you just disagreeing with everyone or what?
Theb the kind of loser who wants to fight Rare but then beg to be let into the house again lol. You can't be a cheater, badass and cry at the same time. Lots of cope here.
@specimenargon lol, bro is like: they said I'm not allowed to evade bans and stream the game. SO ANYWAY I STARTED STREAMING WHILE I EVADED THE BAN- WhY wAs I bAnNeD aGaIn??? :cc
@@specimenargon A reason that Theb himself admits he did, and admits he now knows how bad it is. Then instead of trying to be honest about it and apologize he dug himself deeper, THEN tried to apologize, THEN DUG HIMSELF DEEPER AGAIN. He spoils changes that are on insider, he abuses the twitch drops mechanic, he shit talks the devs on stream, he evades bans openly ON STREAM and then wonders why they won't work with him? Bro is dumb af.
