Use a threaded fork as a threadless fork! I thought I'd try this out and it worked well. The caveat is that the quill stem is seized in the fork acting as a star nut.

Edit: At 4:19 I should mention the threadless stem pinches onto the threaded portion of the steer tube completely, achieving full engagement. Thanks to all for the subs, likes and comments!

Thanks for the comment! This video shows the safest way to do just that since the quill stem is seized in the threaded steerer tube.; that said, you'd need a means of reinforcing the threaded steerer tube walls to make it work. However, many don't and, in that scenario, the dude who replied below stating my experiment is a bodge would be correct. Don't forget to subscribe!

What conversion kit do you use

Thanks for the question! No conversion kit, just the existing threadless headset parts and a threaded fork. I've only attempted this conversion because the quill stem is corroded in the fork, which strengthens the steerer tube walls and prevents the threadless stem from being crushed. @@hobbybike51 no bro science, that ghetto star nut can release or create a crack in the steerer tube and make the stem loose, if I had to do it I would install a proper startnut and keep the rest
