We had to freedive into a cave to take some Incredible underwater photography.
Underwater adventures are my favorite adventures.
Diving into sea caves like this should only be done by professional freedivers or when lead by a professional diving guide.

No... freedrivers aren't trained for caves ... like wow

You could say I was for this specifi cave. as I was trained how to enter this cave and trained others how to enter it themselves. But there is no “cave freediving” course available for Purchase & certification

@@emilydives665 So what you mean is "not only do I take unacceptable safety risks for myself, I negligently encourage other people to risk their lives, too!"
@emilydives665
@emilydives665 2 года назад
@@WatsonAndDaughter It's not exactly unacceptable as I'm a master freediving instructor regularly diving 200ft in depth with a 5min beathhold who's done this exact 24ft dive over 100 times and been professionally trained to lead others to do this dive. It's like saying sky diving instructors are taking necessary risks by taking people sky diving. All the divers in the video are 200ft+ divers and professional freediving instructors themselves. However, I appreciate your concern for safety!

Recommend...everyone watch the Dive Talk youtube channel. Clear guidelines for diving into a cave get discussed. Diving without relevant diving gear or cave diving certification is nothing but stupidity. Please don't promote such stupid or unsafe practices
@emilydives665

EmilyDives Please do not recommend scuba diving courses in instances of freediving- it is nothing short of dangerous. The same practices that would keep a scuba diver safe in a cave for hours long dives may endanger the lives of a freediver on their 15 s dive. Please don't promote such unsafe practices as disseminating information without the necessary freediving expertise. So a scuba diving cave diving course wouldn't educate a freediver about anything valuable that they need to know about how to safely enter this dive site. This is a 15second long dive where the diver needs to be confident diving to head first and kicking down to 15m (a level 1 freediving level experience) with proper freediving technique. They don't need to be educated on decompression theory, timing in & out of a cave route, or entanglement or silt out scenarios, as well as a frog kick would not be advisable. They need to be confident that when they do dive down to rely on their freediving training on proper technique and to keep kicking calmly and consistently (and definitely not like scuba diver- frog kick would absolutely not be advisable in this scenario). There is no silt- its a completely rock & coarse sand bottom. If you are interested in how freediving & scuba diving differ, I'd recommend you take your level 1 freediving course!

Emily, do you have something against scuba tanks?
@emilydives665
@emilydives665 Год назад
i mean...they are heavy and I've hurt quite a few toes on them. But otherwise I typically use them for express purposes...taking photos of tiny creatures under the sea...deep wreck dives...deep shark dives. I just don't think folks from a completely unrelated activity should lecture safety towards another activity the know nothing about. Feels...unsafe. Similarly you probably wouldn't want someone who doesn't know how to scuba dive giving you safety advise about scuba diving.

Make your arguments about freediving vs. scuba when it comes to safety all you want, I don't agree with you and that's okay. HOWEVER, YOU SHOULD AT LEAST TELL PEOPLE NOT TO ATTEMPT THIS WITHOUT MAJOR TRAINING. People DIE trying to pull stunts like this, your example is potentially lethal!

@@emilydives665 in NO situation is it advisable to go into a cave without the proper equipment, NO MATTER How small you think that cave is. Your team isn’t even equipped with lights? This seems like your ignorant to cave diving and just how dangerous it is. Talk to any cave cert diver and they will tell you the same thing.
@FUNKER420
@FUNKER420 2 года назад
DONT listen to EMILY , she clearly doesn’t understand caves and how dangerous they really are. Not advisable to enter any cave without a cave cert and also the proper equipment. Especially a FUCKING light. Jesus this is a stupid thing to do. And can result in death even if the cave is just “REALLY SMALL”. Free divers are notoriously thick headed, and too many end up dead from stupid games like this .
@emilydives665
@emilydives665 2 года назад
@@FUNKER420 this is not scuba diving. I need you to educate yourself. Yes, a torch is advisable in a situation where you are in darkness or lose the light. I repeated, this is not scuba diving. This is diving under an arch, essentially. You are never in total darkness, you can see the end, the total dive time is 15 seconds. extra equipment, save for a small torch to act as a guide for the person behind you if they are following or nervous, is advisable. Again, this is not scuba diving. There is not cave diving course for this type of activity. There Is very little crossover in how we handle these scenrios.
