I'm used to being a silent viewer, but I've watched your channel for years. I'm really excited about this new series, I always enjoy your videos.

Your vlogs have always been so sweet and I get a smile on my face every time I've seen you've posted something! Just reached the point in the video where you say you're feeling stilted filming youtube videos - but one of the things I was marvelling at throughout this video was how naturally you seem to speak to the camera and express yourself! I was thinking "ugh, I like the idea of making art vlogs but I could never speak naturally to the camera like this!" So in case this is a worry for you: please don't worry about it! You really do sound so natural and authentic and your style of softly chatting away has always been one (of many) highlights of your videos to me and this particular video was no exception! P.S. Mull is lovely and I have a a lot of special memories of visiting it with my Dad - I hope you will make many happy memories there too!

My Grandad was from Mull, I have memories of being a very young child on his dad’s tractor on the farm. It’s a very special place and I can’t wait to rediscover it through your videos.

I have to return to complete the video but when you mentioned the Hebrides, it reminded me of a piece of music I think my class was assigned to play in school (Hebrides Overture). I had to look it up to get a sense of the location. I guess the song was kind of reflecting a storm. hope that your weather is better... however, I always imagine that island living is rather on the poetic side...

The label of the Snoot Set is really precious Holly. :3 We also have a lot of ticks on the Bavarian countryside. After many years, I even decided on a vaccination again, because I didn't want to deal with anything health related in that regard. And midges oh boi ... since we live next to a lake all windows are covered with them in the summer, 😖 which is why I oftentimes keep the windows closed in the night and sweat haha. Also same here with nets, even though we've them on all windows the small midges find their way in. Maybe one of those citrus candles would help? I used those while camping and it helped to keep the tent midges free. ✨

Super excited for Mull vlogs! Ticks are for sure the trade off to enjoying time in wilder parts - sometimes it puts me off going for a walk etc but then I just think well as long as I’m checking and know all the best practice then it’ll be fine. But yeah they are gross still! Our family cat gets them all the time - boke! Looking forward to seeing more of the island 😊

Hey, Holly. It was such a small moment of the video that you mentioned your sporadic reading. Same! As a bookseller, my reading is not what it should be, and it feels like a stupid battle of putting the time and focus into it. It's pretty reasonable and relatable, though, if you got split focus, focusing on a page sometimes feels impossible. Idk if you've ever heard of Books and Bao, but Willow is in Scotland, I think Glasgow. If you and Craig ever venture out that way, that would be a cool meet-up. As a viewer, it feels like an intrusive suggestion, but i thought i would throw it out there since i think you know Jen C. who knows Books and Bao. 😅 best regards. Here's to getting paid in a timely manner and warding off ticks.

I totally love the developing of your channel and I can't wait to see more or your content now that you will share weekly videos of your life there :) I think it is just the same in every platform (like instagram), algorithms don't seem to help at all, rather it seems that they but punish everyone so... keep doing what feels right for you. I love the title you chose for this series and Tobermory's coves were so beautiful! What is the brand name of that delicious looking vegan bacon? I can relate to spending precious time working on getting paid after turning in contract work with past clients. Sorry that is happening to you, but you're not alone. I try to negotiate better NET payment schedules to max 30 days or upon delivery of materials. Also, asking for 40% upfront deposit helps with some smaller clients and keeps the money coming in. Good luck!

What a little slice of heaven that is. I love the town, the waterfalls and the river in the ancient woodland, but most of all that beach. Hearing the water lapping the shoreline looked and sounded like bliss. Such a shame about the ticks! I wonder if you can repel them. Hope you’re well after the ticks attack. I’m from Russia and we are very cautious about ticks here as most of them carry very dangerous viruses. We get vaccinated every other year and if we get bitten, we always bring tick for a test to a local hospital and get another vaccine right away. Just hope your local ticks are not as harsh as ours and you’re fine! 😂 🙏🏼🙏🏼

What a lovely place to be based for the summer. Have you tried the Pestects insect repellent bracelets? They’re brilliant, I used them all last year and didn’t get bitten once. I’m not sure if they’d work for ticks but do seem to work for midges.

It’s not just illustration that takes ages to pay. It generally happens when you’re working with companies. I’ve worked as a freelance fitness instructor and I’ve run art workshops and on both occasions I’ve had to chase up payments. I know this happens in construction as well if you’re working with companies as opposed to private customers. It’s not okay.
