This is my favourite game of all time. "A Sequel to Freelancer with similar mechanics is a Dream". If I get 3 wishes from a Genie, this will be 1 of them.
@@tomasperrin2597 I have done some digging about Freelancer 2 & Star Citizen. Turns out Chris Roberts was doing something similar to Freelancer(infinitely over-extending) & finally after he left, Microsoft made it a finished product. I used to blame MS for Freelancer's hurried release but they are the saviours.

The best game I ever played. Got it as a birthday gift from my parents at the age of 8. Since then it allways had a place on my PC. Played so many mods over the years and everytime its like a fun new adventure to me. Really looking forward to the Nomad Legacy Mod. Could be a new era for FL campaing.
Based on your comment, I see we share Exactly same views mate. It IS the Best Game I have ever played too. Only game I've never uninstalled from PC. Played all the big mods(Monkeys Universe, Nomad Legacy, Crossfire, Star Wars mod etc). FYI, I have a very recent 2022 playthrough with the best graphics Mods available for Freelancer here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VokUTCfKElE.html You'll definitely Love the 1440p res 4K textures of that.
I just started over again with the Big Daddy Storyline. Really tough and hard hitting Npcs. Combined it with the Freelancer HD Mod. Looks stunning and is quiet a challange. The Npcs use shieldbatteries, nanobots and countermessures. There aiming got improved and you can modify any ship with better armor, powersource, engines and much more. So its possible to equip your favourit ship with class 10 guns and shields without breaking the game. Allways liked the Dagger and Banshee most. Awesome work of the design team.
Try it with the Discovery mod.. improved graphics, a ton more ships and star systems and still has an active server if you want multiplayer. Basically, Freelancer 2
@@jhoover8734 Oh Yeah I have played that. That & Nomad Legacy looks very good graphically. Frankly, someone should attempt to do a "Black Mesa" to Freelancer now on UE5 or Unity.
@@Arindam_Gaming yeah, that would be pretty amazing.. I wouldn't even be opposed to a part 2 by a big company if they could manage to keep the simplicity of the UI and the overall feel of the game. But yeah, I would definitely love to see an overhaul of the graphics and maybe even slightly scaling up the size of planets for a more epic feel.
@@jhoover8734 Most Freelancer like games have failed to realize what made Freelancer SO good like what you mentioned, the simplicity of UI, controls and a universe that feels populated, alive & colorful. Practically all space games have this "Space is Void" Cold & desolate atmosphere while Freelancer seems alive & hopeful. And frankly the beauty of the design trumps any space game I have played( weapons, VFX, Ships, nebulae etc)

@@MegaJehanzaib You can even modify the starting ship using a save editor. Finding the code for Valkyrie was a nightmare but I got it! If interested I can do a tutorial for other ships too ^^
@@gabrielmartin2197 oh that won't be necessary. I played am replayed the game about a dozen times with and without mods so I have played almost every fighter ship... Also, just use IONCROSS save game editor, you wont need to find any codes for that.. just load your savegame and it will give you a list of stuff to change.. i would recommend not changing the shio directly but teleporting to a base which sells the ship and buy it from the dealer. :)
@@MegaJehanzaib Ah IONCROSS Save editor. Brings back lots of memories of that, Bini QDU, Lancers Reactor. I used to make mods for Freelancer, had my own Total Conversion(realistic to lore but not too over the top with beam weapons). Making custom ship models in Milkshape was the most satisfying for me.

Star Citizen is the biggest Scam in Video Game history IMO. Back in 2014, I used to support it, followed its development but realized the truth. Freelancer will never die coz no game can replace its uniqueness & beauty.
@@BytesAndBoats Yup same here. I am actively following Pastaspace YT channel for it. Underspace, Everspace 3 & even the old Star Wolves games are similar to Freelancer.
@@Arindam_Gaming There is also Everspace 2, which gives a Freelancer vibe, but with a deeper focus on Single player and scripted story. (Everspace 1 is a Roguelike with randomly generated "game route" with branches)
Unfortunately I haven't found a place to buy in digitally. So Piracy is the only option. Check any of those sites. I don't support it but this game is abandonware.
Hi, man, how do you avoid or should I say keep your ship intact when radiation is near? What do I have to buy or steal so my ship don´t blow into bits :V
In Omega 11, the further you are away from the Center, the less radiation it is & I keep monitoring my ship's Hull so if it loses 3 red bars, I use Nanobots. Valkrie with 5800 hull strength is strong enough to survive out there.
@@Arindam_Gaming you are right with the tizona del cid😊 I think there was 2x tizona 2x diamondback the rest was nomad weapons + sunslayer torpedo. When anyone on a pvp server would gank me i always used my sunslyer torpedos too 🤣💪Was used to play on the Hamburg city pvp server with a lot of mods. Was a great server
@@michaelegert1284 In my 2nd Freelancer playlist videos from 2022, I used to get really close to my target & use that tactic but with 2x Cannonballs too with a HMI Ripper for added effect. Insta Kill no matter how strong the enemy is.
@@Arindam_Gaming Cannonbal l rockets was fun too. But there was a lot of whine in the chat when you used them 🤣 I had the reaper mines too. But my go to was always the sunslayer. Was realy good with the torpedos. We was most time 2 guys a friend and me. And when we have to fight 5+ enemys i used mines and evtl when they would gank longer rockets too 😁🤟 My friend always used the eagle. The sound of a hitting sunslyer is just amazing🤣
@@michaelegert1284 Sunslayer I believ is found in 1 or 2 places, Bundschuh station Bruschal & one more Budschuh or Red Hessian Base. Felt like overkill for any fighter even a Titan.
Hi if you search on Google, you will find there are mods & texture packs like "Swag", "Jason's patch","HD starscapes" etc. I don't exactly remember the mods, but they are only graphical & UI in nature.
Wow! You are bad at combat, even though these Red Hessians seem to be rather lazy. Why do you stand still and let them shoot down your (level 10!) shields? Why don't you restore shields immediately? You get 80000 for the job and pay 25000 for repairs, using up all your shield batteries first would be better and cheaper. Drifting backwards in an asteroid field is also a bad idea and you can leap through a jump hole immediately, if you fly right into it and then press [dock].
Mate, You are completely misinformed regarding me Or intention of this video !!! Everything you said is known to me. My knowledge of Freelancer is so good I can probably do a 99.9% run in my dreams since I remember almost everything . This playthrough is a near Identical "recreation" of my very first playthrough of Freelancer way back in 2003 (when I was little kid) which includes the way I used to play(yes, drifting in an asteroid since I used to think that was cool), the progression of ships I used(Valkyrie not Falcon which was better, Titan not Sabre even though it has a forward firing turret & slightly more nimble), almost exact same weapons, including the wrecks I harvested, the way I went from system-to-system to finally end up in Tau-37 with Titan & Nomad Cannons. This is me reliving my nostalgia & good ol' days and not even remotely trying to achieve "perfection" or "meta" as today's crowds search for.
