Thank you for this clear video. One question. To time an athlete over 60m say for example, we use the the TX touch pro on the block start and then do we just use the one TX junior pro cone (set to finish) on the 60m mark? Or do we have to have the other TC junior pro cone set somewhere up in between the start and finish? Any help appreciated. Many thanks again.

Glad to hear you like the video. To answer your question, you can totaly time the 60m sprint from your example, with just one TX touch pro and one junior pro cone (set in finish mode at the 60m mark). The benefit of having a second junior pro cone, is that you can have 30m split time or that you have the possibility to also time flying sprints in your training sessions. But this is not a necessity. I hope this answered your question. Good luck with the training sessions.

If you are doing flys with 2 of these then you wouldn't have to move the second one back 80 cm as the first one will also detect the chip 80cm before right? Also, since the circle doesn't fully extend into your lane in the first image, wouldn't it detect the chip when it is a little less than 80 cm away if you visualize it?

Your 100% correct on both questions. For flys you don't need to take into account the 80cm detection radius. As long as the distance between the cones is the amount you want to be measured, you're good to go. As for the second question. Because the radius of the detection field is 80cm and a track and field lane has a width of 122cm's, there is +-40cm area on the outside of the lane where the chip will not be detected. However normally the athlete will run in the middle of the lane and this won't be a problem. To minimize the risk of this happening, I always instruct the athlete to wear the chip either where their buckle belt is located or on the side of their pants closest to the cone.

Thanks for the informative video. I am wanting to get times for simple 2 point starts. I'm looking to record 20,40 and 60m times (separately, not lap). Would you suggest just getting 2 junior transmitters and the chip?

2 junior pro cones would definitely work if you take a small fly in zone(1m or more) into account. I would suggest going for an E-starter and a junior pro cone instead. This way you don't need the fly in zone and you can just track the time from start to finish. Hope this answers your question.

Look up the Jawku it's far cheaper. It uses your phone plus a device on your wrist

@@user-ze3sg6ix1u I checked out reviews for that and many people had issues with it and it just isn't as consistently accurate as something like Free Lap or even a cheaper option like SKLZ Speed Gates which I have personally. You can only do so much with a wrist strap and a phone whereas Pro athletes and good coaches actually use Free Lap for accurate timing. You're never gonna get truly accurate times on your wrist anyway when it's the torso that matters in races not arms or legs. Free Lap clips on the waist so that's a pretty reliable area to time consistently whereas the wrist can be 2 feet in front of the torso at times or a foot behind the torso. ***Also Jawku isn't really made to time multiple splits with accuracy either. It's better for start and finish timing. I think they have the option to add on additional timing but like I said the wrist position disparity just won't be consistent enough.

Do you have it? If so how you like it?

Would the first sensor also Detect 80cm earlier? cause if so we would want 80cm adjust on start.

@Speedbasedtech Год назад
Of course that would work as well. You just need to place your TX touch pro or E starter, 80cm's back and place a new starting line there. It depends on your preferences if you want to let the athlete start on the official start en finish 80cm behind the finish. Or if you want finish at the official finish and pull the starting line 80cm's back. Just make sure that, if you use any extra cones for split times, that you adjust them according to the protocol you chose.

Can i use freelap bt 112 without tx pad pro and without e-starter? In this case which start i need to use (3 point or 2 point start)?
@Speedbasedtech

You can use the set without a starter. You would just need to set a junior pro cone in the "start" mode and make sure you start 1m behind the cone. the type of start doesn't really matter as long as you stay 1m behind the junior pro cone.

I don't like Freelap. Bower timing

What specific features do you like more with the bower system compared to the freelap timing system? Just asking out of curiousity. Because I only worked with it once or twice and would like to get my hands on their equipment.
