Purchased a few of these cause they were $99. Glad to see a larger frame dude review them. Im 6'1" about 185 most of my weight is in my chest. So seeing you comfortable with it is nice
There is fraglock coating on the steel. Maybe you prefer a extra liner but there is a coating. How well does it work? I’m not sure haven’t looked for a video that test these plates.
Just cause you get bigger as in more meat and fat doesn’t mean your circulatory system is getting bigger… if you’re naturally big like a Viking yeah it’s probably too small.
@@roberttempest7543 got the curved on a deal which made them same price as flat. I enjoy this setup. Actually, I flip the backplate upside down so I can move the rear plate up and not interfere with my shoulder blades.
Not many body armour options cover the stomach. Some carriers have an extra pouch for an extra plate. But that’s not even really used in militaries unless hey know for sure it’s gonna be a war zone.
PS. Not my primary set up. like I said good for a back up keep it under my seat. I would absolutely love to see somebody deploy 11x14 Full size plate carrier at a stoplight Seated🪑.
Those plates aren't stopping anything. Your plates should be tall enough to cover everything from the belly button to the clavicle and wide enough to cover the span of your lungs.
The only carrier I’ve tried that reaches the belly button is an IOTV, all other plate carriers are atleast an inch or two above the belly button for me.
If I need anything more , I’ve already done fucked up…for me, they will either hit me in the back plate , or the back of my head and in that case I ain’t Worrying about it
I ran one with the full size plate I would not recommend if your gonna be in prone or need to run or even jog. It does more harm then coverage pluss it weighs you down that much more.
the carrier sucks so bad, it cuts into you. I wish they offered a more robust plate carrier as an option.... The plates are to small for an ordinary carrier!
Have him work out with it, have him upgrade to the multi curve if you haven't gotten them already. Its different to shoot with armor on then with out, pratice makes perfect
@@Irishdevil19x that's good, I know alot of people that buy there gear an think when the day comes they will get some sort of strength out of no were to do what they have to do.
Damn that thing is tiny! I think plate carriers are gong the same route as EDC pistols.....lol! Seriously though, those plate carriers are next to useless unless you are a child or a 100lb women.
This is a affordable bare minimum set up. The plates are literally half the weight of the full size plates. 5 pounds for the small ones, 10 pounds for the full size ones
@@roberttempest7543 I agree, I have one of these along with a full size set. Although the Freeman doesn't cover as much, the weight difference helps with mobility and speed.
Its just the bare minimum coverage a trunk set up. I wouldn't depend on this as a full battle set up. Maybe a back up or a hand me out for the ones that did not prepare
@@cookncrook6902 You could live with a lung shot but you'd be out of the fight. Can't live with a heart shot. These have their place in a kit. But for adults I do recommend 10x12 personally.
