I have attended Freestyle events in the past, however none like the one that Charlie Rock brought to the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee at Osceola Heritage Square Park this past April 20th with the Freestyle Legends Reunion. This concert was one to go down in history, the lineup was insane.
Giggles opened up the venue with the traditional songs she's known for, which included “Love Letter” and “What Goes Around Comes Around”.
Next on to bat was the Spanish Harlem native Lisette Melendez dropping that b-boy anthem “Make Noise”. Despite the minor technical difficulty, she came through and keep the crowd going by doing acapellas to “A Day In My Life (Without You)” and “Time Passes By”. Lisette ended her set with the track that made her who she is today, and the song is “Together Forever”.
Mr. “Where Are You Tonight” was in plain sight that evening, putting on a spectacular show along with his dancers. Coro also did the throbbing “Can't Let You Go” but before letting us go he switched up a bit and closed it with a Reggaeton banger.
Angel of The Cover Girls took the center stage next with a great ovation from the fans. As she performed the ever so popular anthems of “Because Of You, and “Show Me”.
Followed by the diva herself, the ever so talented miss Judy Torres with that soulful voice. Putting up a great show for the people in attendance with “Please Stay Tonight”.
During an interlude segment, Mickey Garcia of Mic Mac Records presented and awarded Charlie Rock an honorary plaque of achievement. This was given for his endless contributions to the Freestyle Community, not only as a writer/producer, but also for being an artist and a successful event promoter.
As the night continued, Johnny O came forth singing his classic hits that we all love and grew up with, “Fantasy Girl'' and “Highways Of Love”. Before exiting the stage, he then passed it to Cynthia who they both gave us the treat of performing “Dreamboy/Dreamgirl''. A song that's rarely performed by them together. She closed up the set with “Endless Night” and “Love Me Tonight”.
Closing out the evening was now Floridian, George LaMond with “Look Into My Eyes”, my personal favorite “Without You” and “Bad Of The Heart”. Then followed by TKA/K7 taking it home before the event was over. Doing a mixture of hits from both entities, including billboard charters “Come Baby Come” and the infectious, heartfelt “Louder Than Love”.
DJ Kool Mike Ski and DJ Mikey Garcia kept the crowd going during intermission spinning nothing but the best. From beginning to end they put on a great show keeping the fanatics hyped. Overall I had an amazing time, I wish everyone would have been in attendance to witness it first hand. Charlie Rock and all the Entertainers shut it down, it was a night to remember for a lifetime. I am glad to have been part of such an extraordinary event, well worth the money and more.
