The OHV reg is a great idea, $40 for two years you can't beat it! Make sure to explore with some friends. Freetown is huge and can be confusing the first few rides.
@@Micscience There's a sign identifying the OHV parking lot on Bell Rock rd. There's also a bulletin board/large map in the back left of the parking area. They usually have some paper maps to take as well.
Hey man! I just got my OHV reg a couple weeks ago, went out to explore Franklin state forest, gonna check out a bit of Freetown tomorrow. I've got nobody to ride with, if anyone wants to get together in Ma drop me a line grobtheory at yahoo.com 👍
hello guys nice video im from new bedford quick question the OHV registration means you cab ride in the street but not highway like i own a wr 450 f with front and rear light does that bike qualify for OHV reg /?
The OHV registration has nothing to do with street/highway use. It's to register bikes to ride off-road in areas such as the Freetown State Forest, among others. www.mass.gov/service-details/off-highway-vehicle-program-ohv
@@vadimsedletsky9251 I couldn't find any specific verification of that requirement in the regulations. Do you happen to have a link handy stating that requirement? The OHV pamphlet states that "Recreation vehicles operated on public or private property must be registered through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts." A plated dirtbike isn't considered recreational but is obviously registered in MA as a motorcycle. I can't find anything on the website regarding motorcycle access to these OHV areas. I'll call next week for clarification.
@@rustyhooks9482 thanks what I remember doing my homework about it. And to support it they do ask you to show you paid taxes on the purchase of the bike, they could have just say - you paid taxes? Plated? You're good to go. But they don't. Keep us posted! I think that's the case.
