Great video! Yes, the 118mm cg is the max aft I'd recommend (Not 128mm as the manual lists). I too run around 115mm and just adjusted the neutral elevator position accordingly. Cheers!
115mm, so you adjusted your elevator nose up. Tell me how much mm your elevator leading edge is outside of the fuselage contour ? (according manual page 14 LE has to be 7mm inside contour) you must have a horrible EDD
@adriankeller2711 At 115mm cg my neutral elevator is about 3-4mm above the bottom of the fuselage line. The manual's cg and neutral elevator position are incorrect, poorly recommended, and should not be followed.
Yes, this is all due to the cg being to far aft as Rick mentioned. I've adjusted mine and now it's great and VER predictable in the air and on landings. Cheers!
Hey Rick , great flying and great video with all the set up ! I've had this plane in the hanger for a while and your video has got me excited to get this bird in the air. I've been flying 80and 90mm edf' sport jets but you cant beat scale jets and the F16 is a legend ! Thanks and keep the videos coming! cheers mate
Your CG is well fwd of the factory one and very unrealistic. In all my years flying this F16 I moved it back and meanwhile Iˋm with 125mm, and have my horizontal stabilizer still not in the range as mentioned on the manual. The manual states LE horizontal stabilizer 7mm inside the fuselage contour. On the video you can see at least 2mm outside of fuselage contour that gives a EWD of horrible 4-5 degrees > that’s a real airbrake. Elevator of 40mm rate or more is an absolute danger. I canˋt imagine whatfor this throw is used if not crashing the plane. The difference video 1/2 is only experience and has nothing to do with the CG.
Try it... 115mm is the correct cg guys. The neutral elevator position needs to change accordingly. Once you do it flies great. Any experienced pilot knows that elevator throw needs to be increased the further forward you go with the cg.
Experienced pilots know as well, the heavier your nose is the more elevator nose up you need. In your F-16 the angle of incidence is unusual high ( at least 4-5 degrees I guess) and that is absolutely unnatural for a Jet.
@adriankeller2711 Look at the FW Mig-29... That was an extremely poir design with that scenario. (The worst FW design of all time) This plane's only slightly the case. Adjust it and it'll fly great, just a little drag and barely noticeable tbh.
