Sweet video! Some places still sell retro looking embroidery patterns ( Walmart, maybe Hobby Lobby, maybe online). Really cute. I knew that plastic wrap between papers, works with an iron, but didn’t think about the plastic on the back of the freezer paper! Great!🥰
I use a regular iron with freezer paper. I put my image (usually paper or fabric) face down on top of several pieces of ironed cotton fabric to protect my hard sink counter or table. (I think it works better on a hard surface rather than an ironing board.) Then I put the shiny side of the freezer paper down & iron on the back, so only the non-shiny side is between the iron & the plastic side. My iron goes to level 7 & it seems to work on as low as 4 or as high as 7. I rarely use something as thin as a napkin or tissue paper, so I rarely get wrinkles. But with thinner materials ironing on the front might be better if you want it very smooth. If you adhere a piece of fabric to freezer paper and cut the result to a standard paper size (such as 8.5 x 11) you can run it through a printer. Just make sure you place it in the paper tray or feeder with the fabric side in the right position. Some printers print on the top side and some on the bottom. Then you can peel off the freezer paper and have only the fabric to use in your project.
Just make sure to be careful if you have one of the Quartz countertops because they don’t like heat as much as granite. I have quartz and still love it!Yay!
I just got the wool ironing mat and it is great for crafting! I must say however, I cringed when you were applying the mod podge to the pattern pieces without putting your placement back down! LOL. Protect that wool ironing mat!
So happy you like your new mat! But I must admit I got a checkout of your comment about not putting my placemat down! 🤣. I tend to get into the zone and forget to put things down to protect surfaces and then pay by having to spend millions of hours cleaning up!🤷♀️🙃
I had no idea you could bond paper to freezer wrap! I thought everything you bonded to it had to be made of plastic! My journal journey has just become a real trip! Thanks!!
I just started friend mail and junk journals because of your fun fun fun freezer paper tutorial! Oh my gosh I’m hooked! Lol! Love it!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!
Since I found your channel I have tried the freezer paper thing on thin fabric as well. I use a lot of Amazon packaging for junk journal cover and using the fabric with the freezer paper hides the wording on the packaging really well. XX
Wow! I love how the Martha's folder turned out! How did you think to use freezer paper??? What is that gray mat you have to iron on and where did you get that cute little iron? xo Mary
Thank you Laura! I will have to check those out! But how in the world did you think to use freezer paper...just curious as I have trouble thinking of unique ways to do things. xo Mary
@@plethoraofpaper6388 I saw videos about using freezer wrap to back stuff. I think I had a pattern on my desk and it was pretty tattered and I just thought” why not?”. A lot of times I see someone’s idea and then I try to put my own spin on it…make it my own. Hope that all makes sense. I’ve been like that for as long as I can remember…..always making something unique or different is my style!🙂
I am just starting to find the freezer paper uses. LOVE this video...first one of yours I have seen. So...how permanent is the freezer paper bond? Will it offer longevity in projects? Going off to watch more of your videos...new subscriber and thumbs up!!!
Here is the link on Amazon for my iron! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B5YYN247/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&th=1 Thank you for stopping by and being so kind!❤️
Yup! There’s something that happens to you ( or at least me) and things that you knew or practice cannot be found anywhere in your memory. I always roll paper the opposite way when it rolls, but on camera, just doesn’t happen!🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️Thanks for stopping by and commenting!🫶
I would say try it ! But make sure it is not something that is special on the first try and make sure to use the parchment paper! Watch your heat too! Hope this helps!👌
