Fire is critical when camping, especially when in a frozen forest. Tonight, I am testing out a wood stove that was made in Minnesota. The stove is smaller than my regular stove, and it's way lighter. I am using it in a canvas tent in absolutely freezing conditions to see what it's made of. Will it battle the cold? Will it stay hot? Will it backdraft or cause problems? I will be sleeping next to the new wood stove to get a really good feel for it.
I am also very busy gathering wood for the rest of the winter, and I am feeding myself with hardy meals along the way.
Join me for a night in the hot tent in Canada's far northern frozen forest
