Your trains are beginning to become as long and heavy as Canadian trains. Anything over 200 wagons, 40000 tons or 2 km long starts to become a big train. I am just amazed that some of your electric trains lines can handle such high loads without the cantenaries melting or tripping the power station up.
In India locomotives (Electric or Diesel) are custom built to operate in a particular terrain. They may all look alike in terms of appearance, but in terms of specifications and HP they all vary.
Ameya Naik I sense much nationalism in your statement. There is nothing wrong with being proud of what you can do and have developed but your engineering is best for your country only.
On electric trains, I think if the power sections are short in kms terms and adequately fed, then with the right multistrand OHE lines, the OHE ines may not be fried... I think the traffic planners may be restricting the number of locos in each power section to ensure that feed voltage remains at 25KV AC..........Though personally I would like to see only WAG9s (with three phase AC motors) as bankers, breakers in this section as they have regenerative braking capability...........For long freight trains in India, search for 'python' - these trains get priority over premium trains as they cannot be looped in wayside stations for premium trains to overtake them........
excelente video.., y pensar que asi fueron nuestros FFCC..., en fin, ya volveran.., saludos desde Chile., excelente video, sobre todo las capturas en el tunel.
4 pulling locks for oil tanker goods 1Alco and 3 Bankers 2 Alcos and 3 Bankers All different types of goods trains Are there any criteria norms or some such thing by the Railway Administration
at 0700 is that a water fall at the top right? y the alcos were in front and y the two emus at the rear? any reason y alcos? at 1241 the guard bogey is large with space front and back. is that for any special purpose? i have seen normally guard bogey just a third of the size. pl let us know. at the end when the twin emus were passing, there were loud squueaking noises. I have noticed the squeak at times on passenger trains also. can you tell us why that sound? thanks in advance. your uploads are great
The ALCos are pulling the train by default they are the primary locos may have been hauling the freight even before Karjat. The 2 WAG7s are the Bankers attached at Karjat to push the train Up hill. The large Bogies are the latest ones 8 wheeled for better balancing they are designed long and spacious also as a safety measure while attached to Petroleum /Gas tankers. The Squeaky noise is due to extreme Braking in the Ghat section also when brakes are heavily applied one can hear that sound.
TRZ, at0556 when the last container passed, i was surprised there was no guard bogey... y is that? i thought every goods train does have a guard at the rear, no?
In case of 4 wheeled Brake Vans they are detached at Lonavala or Karjat as there is a high chance of derailment in the ghats. The latest Brake Vans are 8 wheeled and there is no need for detaching them.
Thanks for watching I completely agree with you. The Tunnel captures were not planned, the train came while crossing as there was no other way to exit from the hills.
