Do you ever get that popping sound or creaking when turning. Chances are we’re talking about the same thing. A failed lead spring bushing on the steer axle. Now you can replace them but that’s still expensive. Either way you choose here’s showing you the procedure to replace it.

If the driver is complaining about vibration or a popping it can be the leaf spring bushings but it could also be the blown passenger side steer shock which is clearly leaking.

Thanks for your help 👍, my question is, is it possible to mount Dd15 fuel pump with out the timing blade?!......
@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228 3 года назад
Yes you can install it without it but.... the pump is timed for a reason and when removed you would have no idea where the top dead center is. Fuel pump timing helps with abnormal pulsating in the pump when mated to a gear train. . Plus turning the gear to get it straight up is easy enough anyways.hope that helps and thanks for watching.

@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
Front end issues are tough ones to solve. There’s so many issues to look at. If your just focused on covering up the road bumps. I’d start with aftermarket heavy duty steer shocks. Oem is not good. Than I’d check the cab mounts, leaf spring ubolts, king pins. These will be your main contributors.

Great question man. Yes you can keep running but you will most likely get drivability issues as well as poping or cracking noise on turns. Pricing on parts will constantly be changing due to supply. As for labor figure about 6 hrs of what the labor rate is.

Got a question about the popping noise. Does the noise occur while hooked to a loaded trailer or no? I have a popping noise but it only occurs when I have a loaded trailer which leads to think that its a suspension issue.
@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228 3 года назад
Great question. For the majority of the time it will occur unloaded or disconnected from a trailer. But in some cases the only way to duplicate particular issues is to have a heavy strain on the suspension by being connected to a trailer. There a lot of suspension components at work especially under pressure so would just need to find out which area the noise is coming from. Hope that helps

Great to hear from you man. Sorry to hear about the issue your running into. The leaf springs will cause a lean, noise, and shaking. But I wouldn’t say it would make the whole truck shake the way you described. I would really want to have the balence checked on those tires because they will do just that. After that I’d look at motor mounts, cab mounts , driveline for damage or correct phaseing, baseically everything suspension related. @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228 3 года назад
@@jadb8452 for trucks majority of the time following grooves is related to how wide the truck is which just makes it easier to do and wear pattern/tread pattern of the tires. When everything is brand new and tight (all your bushings,shocks,springs) a lot of that free play was taken up so it wouldn’t veer so easily. There’s no reason it should of gotten worse though after new tires unless alignment is that bad and causing a drift. If ur truck goes straight on its own I’d lean into suspension components, if it’s drift while you going straight I’d lean into the alignment.
@jadb8452
@jadb8452 3 года назад
@@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228 its not drifting it more like veering left n right. when i let go of the steering wheel is still drive straight, it only does it where is a lot of groove or construction zone where the road is uneven it starts to veer left and right, when am loaded its drive much better, when trailer is empty thats when the jumping vibration gets bad, the heavy weight for some reason have something to do with it, man am confused
@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228 3 года назад
@@jadb8452 gotcha. The veering at that point is normal and nothing to be concerned with. Since the weight is on the ass end of the truck it will bid a lot of the issues on the front end. With weight released there’s not enough downward force and stress against all the bushings. Really it would just be going under and inspecting all the suspension components.
