You saved the day with this one, bro. Woke up to this regen condition this morning after idling. Just finished parked regen following your instructions. Saved me an embarrassing call to dispatch and I can get on with my next delivery. Thank you.
Bro...this shit just happemed to me!!! I'll leave a comment on what exactly happened and what i did.... I have a 2023 cascadia with 53,000 miles. Been with the company a week. Was idling with a windex bottle shoved by the fuel pedal to keep it from shutting off. Well the regen light came on. Then the check engine light. Soot level on dash was fine. Then after about 2 hours of idling the red stop engine light came on and the shutdown counter started. So i went through the menu and started a regen. 1 hour passed and still doing a regen. Did one again. Same thing, over 1 hour and not stopping. Found this video...i listened carefully and started the truck...after hitting the overide button for idk 5 minutes and/or probably 30 times the rpms raised up and it held rpm and did a regen for about 10 minutes!!!! All of a sudden the rpms drop...and all the lights go out!!! Thanks so much for this! I would have said screw it and called dispatch but i figured I'd give it a try and by hell it worked!
Dude you saved the day with this video! I had pressed that button before at different times trying to see what it did and I figured it was just a placeholder button after doing nothing each time but it totally worked for this. Thank you man! I put LEDs in my truck as well and love em!
Sitting in the yard, mechanic says I need a "Parked Regen"... resetting the shutdown timer keeps the truck running but not necessarily in parked regen mode... The mechanic showed me how to go to the dashboard menu, go over and select "truck" icon menu, go down to the "Diesel Particulate Filter" DPF icon and press "OK" to start the parked regen mode... My mechanic says it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on how long the truck has been sitting or running without a regen being run periodically...
I was idling doing a 34 hour reset when my shit went bonkers. I tried 2 regens that way for 1 hour, then 2 hours and the truck never finished a regen and went ino shutdown/derate mode. I turned the truck off, cycled the power, stumbled across this video and after hitting the override button for 5 minutes it finally did a regen that way for probably 8 to 10 minutes and was fine!
I tried doing what the video said and it didn’t work until I read this guys comment went to the truck settings clicked ok and it started right up. I tried to go back to the override page so the truck didn’t shutdown but it was gone and never shutdown on me. This worked just going into the settings when it’s in “Engine Protection”mode and it’s counting down. I guess reading some of the other comments there’s another warning mode that’s engine shutdown/derate mode. So im guessing the process in the video seems to work only when it’s in the shutdown/derate mode.
Man I appreciate you so much it definitely worked this new idle system on the freitliners are such a headache especially if you have to sit somewhere cold I wasn’t trying to call another tow truck and what’s crazy is if you call a mechanic they’ll tell you they can’t do anything so you gotta be towed to dealership smfh
I was about to do this but i wad parked doing a 34 when i did 2 regens and it wouldn't stop after 3 hours. Did the override button trick for about 5 to 7 minutes and finally the rpms raised and it did a regen for 10 minutes and all the lighrs went off. If it happens again try doing that.
Stuck at Atlanta I hope it will works. Have all lights on dashboard. Both yellow engine lights plus stop in engine light, after treatment. It was not letting me do manual regen as the soot level was good and green. Follow your video and keep pressing the override button again again from last 15 minutes it's started regen after a few minutes. Hopefully it will finish and work. Thanks
Definitely just worked for me you Definitely saved the day I didn't know what was going on when I woke up went to RU-vid found the solution applied the math = problem solved...
I'll also add that if this happens to you and you're in shutdown mode DO NOT go into the dashbaord and click on a regen and start one that way. I hit the engine override button over and over for 5 to 7 minutes and it finally took off and raised the rpms and did another regen. This time the engine ran more rough and i didn't sit there for an hour. Idk what it does but if you have the check engine lights flashing and you're in shutdown/derste mode, stay calm and keep hitting the override button until it starts a regen that way.
Same issue with my Freightliner 2022 . Regen cuts off and this message pops up . We are trying it to override this message to see if it is completes the whole regeneration
I just wanted to comment because I ran into this issue on my 2022 cascadia ....and was able to fix it by using this button and it took me about 3 Regens for my code to clear ...
@@Trucker_Smooth_ We gave up and called Ryder. The tech on the line said some new Freightliners have a software issue. I'll probably just wind up switching to another Day Cab.
Parked the truck..applied breaks...and started the regen..it didnt work the first time but i tried a few more times and it let me ..what i learned was that it wont let you perform a manual regen until it really really needs it...
I am resting for more than 4 hours but doesn't work and I call Love service they make forcing regen . but I appreciate what you did to help others keep doing it .
All you have to do is hit the back button. Turn off the engine. Turn it back on and immediately go into the regen screen and hit OK. No need to hit that button every couple minutes
I’ve did that right before this video and took off my battery cables once I turned everything back on that shut down number still come on so that button I’m pressing is to keep resetting the count down to allow the regen
My truck just did this and hitting the override button and resetting the clock for a few minutes made it do a regen that way and finally all my lights went off and i wasn't in shutdown mode once the regen was done.
Can’t read the dash, and your finger covered the icon on the button that you said to push. I have a 2022 Cascadia, and my dash is not set up like yours. So being able to actually SEE what you’re referring to would be helpful.
