@@darpe.d5603a type of damage that occurs whenever crush damage is used on an enemy that’s frozen. Crush damage is something that can occur only with claymore characters, Geo characters, and Candace (her normal attack where she hits with her shield actually deals crush damage)
@@darpe.d5603 it's specifically when you break a frozen enemy with a heavy attack like a claymore or Candace's shield (explosion and plunge attack as well I think?) and iirc it scales off of Elemental mastery to some extent. It's not a particularly strong reaction and it's extremely niche because only characters like Chongyun and Candace can do anything with shatter, so Freminet is the first character specifically designed to do shatter damage.
As a Eula main i know a baby 4 star Eula when i see one. Looks like SoBP will probably be his BiS weapon for Phys build along with Yelan or Xingqui for the hydro application to take advantage of the shatter ascension passive. Even the burst resetting your E CD followed by a short NA string and then your E again is exactly like Eula's. Looks fun to play hope i get him after burning all my wishes on Yelan and Lynette.
Ikr! If people want to play meta and only play meta, fine with me. Never bothered me. I want fun game play and interesting characters to play as. If they happen to be meta, cool. If they happen not to be meta, also cool. Great to see there are others who think like me out there 😀
I have a hunch feeling that Mihoyo hates those meta slaves that kept complaining about bullshit that not every player care about, hence why they focused and making fun and variables kit instead of power scaling characters and making more floors for the abyss

I just picked him up and leveled him up to 60. 4 piece pale flame and level 80 Serpent's spine. He is stupidly easy to use. His rotation is a lot of fun. Kind of refreshing after some of the overly-complicated Sumeru characters. I am actually looking forward to what he can do when I level him all the way up.

I fell in love with his design and fell even more when knowing his playstyle, hoyo is finally fiddling with more unique and versitile characters instead of rigid one-playstyle characters. hes not meta currently, but playing him feels so fun unlike most on-field dps, which is why i hate that most creators chuck him into the "bad characters" box just because hes not very viable for abyss. i do hope hoyo is exploring more stuff in the future, and that they could prioritize more fun kits like freminet more in future updates. overall fun character, also he's just a cutie! 10/10 for fremi
I totally forgot Rosaria shreds physical! Her, Mika, Freminet and an electro unit... probably Fischl or Beidou, I'll have to see who synergizes better. Or Dori, actually.
I've loved playing shatterbloom with Kaveh before (want him to be full bloom in the future when I get Nilou) so having a unit who seems purposefully made to take advantage of the shatter reaction will be a nice replacement :) He might not be meta but the game gets so boring if you only focus on that and don't have at least a few teams using fun and unique synergies.
Thanks for the review! I just got a copy of him, and currently loving his playstyle unexpectedly. Also, I'd like to share that the Inazuma claymore works really well with Freminet. And at high refinement, gaining energy is hardly an issue. I currently run him in a team with attackspeed buffs, and it's pretty fun.
Oh i'll try to get that claymore! (Katsuragikiri Nagamasa right?) It looks so pretty. Do you think it is better than the Prototype Archaic? It seems it has less ATK but more ER and Skill DMG (I'm a bit new to the game)
@@arian_motta I think the Archaic is okay if you have no troubles with his energy charging, and you value more his physical dmg. And yeah, the Nagamasa claymore looks pretty too with Freminet.
I haven’t been a big user of claymore characters because of how impatient I am with the time is takes to swing the weapon but Freminet’s play style feels less slow and looks very cool so I’m excited to be building my first claymore :3
When first reading the skills, “converted to shattering pressure” really made me think he would be able to turn his normals into his skill attack, but alas this isn’t a 5 star, and even then might be too much
It would be a niche but its going to be funny if building him in a literal split scaling like an artifact of 2ps blizzard 2ps physical dmg bonus + physical bonus claymore with cryo goblet
He's a fun character to use, when Cryo combo it made me think similar to Razor Burst (buff active and skill cooldown) and Cryo Diluc+Chongyun double E skill combo and repeat double E till run out of buffs. I follow the trial gear buffs on Freminet with 4pcs Blizzard Strayer + Royal Greatsword to improve both of his Cryo Skill, Burst and AA. A Crit ratio 1/2 has to do with the Royal Greatsword if you want to built full Crit dmg with a Circlet and other Crit dmg substats, plus a 2 Cryo unit resonance, or even a unit with crit passive buffs(like Rosaria).
Despite how I don’t like Freminet’s character- I kinda like how he is gameplay wise. It’s nice to see a 4 star that has such engaging gameplay and a coherent kit.

@@xeliph9120 The only time we EVER saw Freminet was when Traveler went to him with Lyney and Lynette in the first act. He was completely missing in both Lyney’s story quest and the second act- He wasn’t even in anything major.

I sadly didnt get my freminet during his banner so ive been pre-building him for when we get him for free later the version. i'm very excited and his kit(according to the times ive test run him) is really fun an i cant wait!!!
Thanks for a complete guide mentioning the little things like number of particles. Similar to Candace, I think it is a complete kit for one character, but it needs another character or artifact set. In this case, I think we need a support or gear that does something like add an AOE or maybe even generate a Crystallize shield when you cause a shatter.
I love the fact that Freminet Mains are calling his hyperbloom teams: Milkshake Teams! Cuz it's just a fridge team, bur because it involves shatter reaction the fridge becomes a milkshake, lol! I love the creativity! 😊😆
I need this in Razor language. Sevy did great with explaining because I understand at least half of what's going on. I went into his test run completely clueless, noticed he seemed like a phys dps, and just bonked some enemies. Sometimes I see the penguin, sometimes I don't really see anything. I hope I get him on standard after this patch because I don't need either of the five stars in this phase.
still hoping that Mihoyo add Petrify reaction to other Geo Character not only on Zhongli So maybe, Petrify will be triggered after we add pyro + hydro and giving the Vaporized opponent with Geo it will create Petrify
@@DefinitelyNotAFerretboth can be reconciled. Have petrify and bonus shatter damage be a reaction chain that uses Geo the crux of it all, but leave Zhongli as the only character that can just straight up petrify without needed an elemental reaction.
I got Childe at 10 pity trying to get a copy of Freminet. I was trying to save my guarantee for Neuvilette and was taught a lesson on pulling for 4 stars ahaha

OMG! My very first real main was physical Kaeya, since I like the on-field DPS style. I moved him from a Kaeya-Fischl-Qiqi-Noelle (full physical using 4pc Pale flame) team into a Kaeya-Fischl-Xingqiu-Zhongli physical-freeze team. Now that I main Alhaitham and am building a Childe team for my secondary, I've been considering moving Kaeya into a Cryo build for an optional melt team. The only reason I haven't done so yet is because I actually like playing physical on occasion. I can just move my physical-freeze Kaeya build over to Freminet, and I accidentally got Song of Broken Pines but don't plan on getting Eula any time soon so I can put it on him! I'm so excited! My only question would be: Is Layla a good shield option with Freminet - for crit rate boost via cryo res, and so I can keep my Zhongli on my Alhaitham team? I have her c5 but don't utilize her at all. So the team would be Freminet-Fischl-Xingqiu-Layla.
He seems rlly rlly weak BUT rlly rlly fun to play tbh and i love when MHY makes characters that can be played multiple different ways unlike other characters which you can play either as a cryo DPS or as a cryo DPS or if you don't like those two then cryo DPS is your choise -_- That being said i will go 10-20 pulls maybe 30 to try and snipe a copy for collection purposes at least.
kinda weird that he doesnt have that drain/gain HP mechanic like his siblings (and possibly other Fontaine characters too) so he cant use the new artifact set. I love Freminet since he was leaked but I do wonder if he works with Candace? maybe with Candance's hyro infusion, he can freeze and shatter consistently.
Will Xingqui be a good/great support for a Physical Main DPS Freminet? Not sure if Xingqui's aura is applicable with how Freminet goes since he Xingqui was not in the video 😢😅
I saw someone commenting that is using him solely for exploring underwater, so giving him HP% artifacts, the bell and you're set. I've tried it and it's pretty good for exploring: you can swim faster for a longer time due to his passive + have underwater shield due to The bell passive.

@@tardwrangler1019 His playstyle with multiple layers of elemental skill is similar to Diluc's (one thing i like about Diluc). Combined with the fresh focus on Shatter. The interaction with his burst regarding damage amplification also seems really engaging in combat.
@@vladdyruwow dude it's almost as if not everyone cares about abyss or meta or "good numbers" and values gameplay and playing the character they like because they have fun with the game. they cannot make another xiangling or sucrose or xingqiu without throwing out balancing out the window, every 4star we have had has been more or less perfectly serviciable and used in teams that clear abyss. let people have their fun with new characters regardless of meta, just bc someone is having fun in a game in an aspect you dont doesnt mean its a bad thing, you're not forced to pull for them
@@vladdyrucasual players greatly outnumber meta players. you don't hear from them because casuals dont go to forums and comment sections. casual players don't care who's stronger. only care who is more fun and cute.
Best Freminet guide I've seen by far. The other content creators seens to be in a speedrun to say if the character is bad or not, instead of focus of what it gives among the flexible kit and unique playstayle. Thank you Sevy, keep up the good work!

Yeah, we typically only get one new 4* on field DPS per year, Yanfei during 2.x, Kaveh during 3.x, and Freminet now. It's also just neat that we're getting characters leaning towards underused niches, like mono element and shatter
Oh yea, i remember, there's this light blue haired boy somewhere, has claymore, can't freeze and always shatter, mostly paired with a darker blue haired boy that shoots sword, has an auntie, greatly paired with flex geo to do more blunt for shatter. Yea.. "The first character for that".
