Most of this footage includes chasseurs alpins and marsouins. And légionnaires are fully integrated in the french, conventional army chain of command. On the 90 KIA in Afghanistan, 12 were légionnaires. Not sure what your point is ?
@flashbaNg89 what I mean is that legionnaires are/were the first to be sent in harm's way. I've done three tours as a grunt, two in Afghanistan and one in Iraq, and have only met with legionnaires out in the field. Only their officers were French. One could easily make the distinction as French spoke English with a very heavy French accent, as all the other nations (except maybe for the Germans) didn't. I've met French officers, doctors, logistics specialists, etc back in camp, plenty of them, but out in the field, only legionnaires. That does not mean there weren't any, but given the two theatres of operation, I always thought it was strange that I have only seen legionnaires representing France out in the field. That's what I meant.
@@M-M-M-M I understand your point of view now. Your experience, while I believe you, does not correlate the reality. Légionnaires are as much exposed as other melee regiments. They are not sent first, or on the most dangerous places. This is a myth. Elite units like the 2REP tend to get more action, but so are the other commandos units of the regular army. In Mali, french army lost 52 soldiers, 6 were légionnaires.
@flashbaNg89 I see. Well, I don't have access to those numbers, or perhaps better to say, I have never researched it, simply shared my own account. It would be interesting to see though the number of units/soldiers and their exposure to actual combat missions to get a full image. Alone, these are simple numbers, and I mean no disrespect or disbelief, I mean that with a genuine interest.
Despite all the the adavnce weapon and training yet talban still stood their ground stronger as lions and fight every one to the last breath 💪 but again salute to all the soldiers whom last their lives in Afghanistan 🇦🇫 we as an afghan born to fight and every one knows that by now its in our blood no one can stay in Afghanistan but us again Afghanistan is the graveyard of souls so come again 😂
