OH MY GOSH THAT IS A SPLENDID COMPARISON!! You should write a book or short story about that, I feel like it would be wonderful. Of course, you don't have to at all though :D
i don't know if anyone else would like it, but I'd either love a video of you talking about anything with this type of filter on your voice, or if you sang a song with it with a pretty video or idk, either way thank you very much dodes xxx
i know the other comments are supposed to be like "hey yo i know u thas chill" but for some reason i feel like they're an interrogation like "hmmm.. a source says you comment on Conan's videos, too... do you pleas guilty?"
this is the most WONDERFUL tutorial, I had to watch it twice because I was too busy enjoying the pretty vintage-ness and the voice over the first time haha
i love how the audio sounds,, it's giving me 1940s empowered feminist taking over the radio while her husband has been sent off to war realness and i just love it a lot
I'm not even a girl but I enjoy all of your videos so much. I have watched your videos for a long time, but I was afraid to comment because I wouldn't know what the reception would be to my comment, but I finally got the confidence. So I guess I'm finally officially part of the communtiy. Thanks for all you do. :)
I believe she used to have a PO box for this purpose, but stopped once her fanbase got too large for that to be sensible...all the letters and gifts she gets from fans should be from concerts, meet and greets, etc.
she may know how to speak intelligently, but it doesn't mean she's ' posh '. Like Spaniel Towell stated, just because someone doesn't talk like they have no sense and happens to have a British accent doesn't mean they're posh.
+Justine Endo-Ferguson +Becky J hannah hart did a tutorial a lil while back on how to braid pixie cuts! it's like a braided crown, it's super cute. i'm sure if just search 'hannah hart hair braid tutorial' or something or other you'll find it!
dodie. i know i commented somewhat the same at the video of yesterday, and will probably do so the next day too. why? it feels like i'm opening up and it feels damn good while listening to your voice while doing it. i'm pretty young, and my parents don't believe in depression. my dad is the person who says whenever i open up about it, i'm too young to understand what it is and i'm just 'sad'. but the problem is that i sometimes feel numb, empty. not sad. it isn't just sad. yet his words always haunt me, because i feel like i'm just making it all up in my head. they won't get me a therapist, they won't understand. is it that i'm 'obsessed' with the thought of it or something? your videos always make me relax a bit, or even make my day easier to go through. i'm happy to know you are uploading every day this month. i hope my grammar wasn't bad here either. :') again, thank you dodie.
hey! as someone who has dealt with depression (and masked depression) since i was eleven years old, let me tell you, you're not making things up! age doesn't play into this illness, that's a myth :) if your parents don't let you get a therapist and you have health care and are insured, just visit a doctor yourself, if that's not too scary! maybe ask a friend to come with you! doctors will, usually, if they're not *excuse me* dickheads, notice and identify symptoms of depression and then give you a transfer for a youth/child therapist/psychologist. and no, you aren't obsessed about the thought of being depressed; at some point when we feel unwell, and we hear the subject around us, or get exposed to it, we might see resemblances in ourselves, and that is good. mental illnesses get stigmatized and tabooed so much, that if you're not exposed to the subject by (someone in) media, you might never learn about it. but thinking about it, recognizing symptoms, is important. just like learning about the symptoms of a flue, for example! don't let your parents talk you out of this, they aren't always right, even if they like to think that way.
Hey Kamile ! I don't know how old you are but since you said you're pretty young, I'll just assume you're hanging somewhere between 10 and 16 years old :) now there are two things I'd like to point out : 1) During our teenage years, our bodies start producing a shit ton of different hormones. You might already have heard the annoying "you're just another hormonal teenager !" but the thing is... It's kinda true. It's a well-known fact that teenagers tend to get mood swings, to feel stronger emotions and overall to have increased sensitivity. More importantly, it's fairly frequent for adolescents to suffer from acute episodes of depressive mood/behavior, which isn't the same as actual depression. Keep that in mind, it might really just be puberty :) 2) I'm sorry that your parents don't believe you, but if you really feel like something is wrong with you, please try to seek help. Maybe through a friend or a friend's parent. Go to a doctor, go to a therapist, find someone you can talk to. Depression can happen at all ages. Even babies as young as two or three months old can suffer from clinical depression. And even if you don't have actual depression, it doesn't mean you can't go to a doctor and it doesn't mean that talking to a therapist won't benefit you.
try this, which is what worked for me: work in a job that requires you to have your hair tied back at all times, have an enormous head that will barely fit inside the largest company-mandated hat unless your hair is FLAT to your head, and be forced to learn or else have your sweaty, greasy hair falling out all around your face and into the plates of other people's sloppy leftovers. or just keep practising. same result, less irritation. necessity is a wonderful teacher though.
I know right! I have so much hair and it's thick and wavy which means it doesn't stay in braids for that long. I tried doing it myself but I got really hella tired
Oh wow I am utterly in love with this style of video! The vintage sound effect, the typewriter, Dodie's posh accent, THE INTRODUCTION and the touching letter/story at the end. Just wow. I didn't expect this short video to be such a masterpiece when I clicked on it.
Keep trying! try different styles at different moments. Maybe start more in front, try two or three little braids, try (fake) angelbraids. or start behind your ears, this way you can style the top of your head in a way that works for you. Don't give up! You will find a way.
*dodie really inspires me to make videos and it would mean so much if you could all thumbs up so she could see :))* 💙💙 Dodie of you see this ily you're the best lil lady

I've watched this right about every week just because it's so pleasant to watch and I do fancy frenchbraids. And having Dodie being the teacher makes it even better
Am I the only one that didn't want it to end? I swear I could listen to Dodie talking about what gum she chews and I'd still be listening intently to her .. what even dodie you're pure magic I swear
